If you don't think Superman is interesting period, you shouldn't work anywhere near a Superman project. He doesn't need to be "made interesting."
All modern Hollywood does is "make things interesting." They tried to make Luke Skywalker interesting in The Last Jedi, they're going to make James Bond interesting be being black, they made Wheel of Time interesting by casting all of the beautiful female characters as ugly abominations.
Hollywood has an adaptation problem -- they can't just adapt something from beloved written works. They have to put their twist on it, their stamp, like some middle-management guy trying to desperately justify his salary and prove his job has value to the company.
Snyder is a fucking hack and you like hacky subversive shit.
Superman Returns is far better and it was made by a gay pedophile and doesn't even have a fight scene.
