The Dark Knight has a shit screenplay too. It's only saved by stellar acting and a good director. Go listen to the prologue dialogue sometime, it's fucking atrocious from start to finish. David Goyer is a hack and always was a hack. His only critical acclaim was being associated with Christopher Nolan for 3 movies and the first two Blade movies. Pretty much everything else he's written has been a hot pile of shit.

The funny thing about all this hopeful bullshit when it comes to the Superman character is that out of all the DC characters, and i meant that truly when i say this, from all the characters in their library Batman is the only hero that has strived for and actually managed to reform some of his villains. There are issues upon issues of him keeping track of them, trying to help them either as Batman or Bruce Wayne, trying to get them normal jobs, or therapy, or money for their family and so on. Meanwhile Superman never managed to do that. Never. Show me one villain of his that was rehabilitated even for a brief period of them because of Superman himself. Lex Luthor briefly became a good guy, and not in a scheming way, he genuinely just became a good dude/superhero for a bit. Killer Frost and Silver Banshee are also ex-Superman villains who are redeemed into heroes and still are.

Also this isn't really true. Right now Black Adam, Ocean Master, Pied Piper and Carol Ferris are heroic.

I wish someone could realistically provide counter points to the problems majority of people have with man of steel

1. The Excessiveness and overstimulation of action, explosions and things happening on screen is nauseating and headache inducing. This isn’t a script problem, this is a directing problem.

2. No establishing shots. Everything is a hand held close up. The movie has no time to breathe and settle. Every scene is either exposition or someone telling Superman how important he is.

3. The action choreography is truly awful and clashes with logic and reasoning of the character of Superman. Why does Superman fly Zod away from his mother, while screaming “you think you can threaten my mother” while at the same time he leaves his mother alone with the other kryptonians who could’ve easily kidnapped her but for zero reason decided not to. And Superman flies Zod into his neighbors silos and destroys entire neighboring farms? Then he brings the fight to smallville and aids in its destruction (punches a bad guy into a train yard and blows the entire thing up.) This retarded bullshit carries over into the metropolis fight. This movie is nauseating and awful. It’s loud, boring and has no substance. What is the story? Bad guy wants to destroy earth? What are the themes? Jesus…le good? Who’s the heart and soul of the movie? Jonathan Kent? Telling his son to let his classmates drown? Nobody can realistically defend this movie outside of posting pretty screenshots, because that’s all this movie has. It’s one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen, capeshit or not

Yeah, like I said, the dialogue in the bank heist scene in TDK is some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard put to film. Just absolutely horrendous from line 1. The only line that's good is Heath's line at the end and it's because he's a good actor. The entire prologue would have been infinitely better with zero dialogue.
