S3 is the most interesting season since it’s so multi layered that it’s basically 4 different shows in one. You have Famous House, Fishtank, Famous House 2, and then the Vegas Trip. The stretch of Famous House to the cleaning arc is the highest quality that Fishtank has ever been. The effort put into even the worst bits like Alex B’s karate class were good since it had such exuberant personalities. Even Sam and Ben put noticeably more effort into their Famous House characters and Jet was mostly kept off camera. There’s a direct relation between the quality of the show and how often Jet is on camera.

I think the core of the show is watching autistic retards interact. The show is best when it does that.
The problem is autistic retards often sit around doing nothing or are afraid to speak, so challenges prompt them into action.

So I believe the way you should manage the show is
>provide opportunity for fish to interact, have drama, whatever
>if they are too inactive, you give them a slow burn low-intervention challenge that motivates them (ie. candy hoarding or sketches)
>if they are super inactive, you take the inactives and give them a fast, high-intervention challenge (gator squats, cell) and eliminate the loser because they're boring AND not willing to try
>if they are interacting and scheming normally, then you dial back the challenge to allow them to continue

The challenges aren't well designed or time well. Prod obviously don't anticipate how the fish will react half the time, so they could definitely be better planned and designed.
But also the challenges happen on productions schedule, when they should happen on the schedule of the fish (whether they're making their own content = no challenge or no organic content = challenge)
