On one hand, thereโs the idea that art, including movies, should be accessible to everyone. If movies were free, it could give people from all walks of life access to culture, ideas, and stories that they might not otherwise have. In theory, it could make the world more equal in terms of cultural access, helping people learn, grow, and connect.
But on the other hand, movies are a huge investment. Filmmakers, actors, crew, and studios all put a lot of time, energy, and resources into making a film, and they depend on revenue to keep making more movies. If everything was free, it could hurt the incentive to create high-quality content, or even make it harder for independent filmmakers to break through.
