Any idiot on the internet can make a horror story whereas superhero stories have a way bigger barrier to entry and aren't able to be influenced by whatever third world idiot on the interwebs. It's a huge challenge to write for the Big 2 much less be able to touch one of the big properties on film. Naturally, that does not equate to "soul" since horror has a 1000x more frequency of output and far more talentless people hacking their way into it by sheer virtue of its volume of production and release.
