>>211913869This was my takeaway from the housing crash. It seems so simple, you can't keep leveraging debt on debt on debt infinitely, at some point somethings gotta break, a bubble's gotta burst. But the financial people behind all this would hand wave and say "oh it's very complicated, you just don't understand, this is all fine, this is just how it works". And sure enough, it really was all that simple and we would have to pay the piper eventually, and of course none of the people responsible suffered any consequences.
