He ainโ€™t no Wright brother. He like those humorous old black and white reels of people trying to fly with a plane with like 20 wings and it crumples on the ground or one of those dudes who jumped off the Eiffel Tower with wings and died. They were maligned then and are rightly remembered now as jokes.

This implies that the implosion occurred with no warning and even that the act of releasing the weights might have stressed the hull and been the final straw in triggering the failure.

The fact the sub survived ~100 dives before imploding, and the guy operating the sub was a reckless retard, makes me think thereโ€™s probably a way to actually make a sub like that safe and durable. Sound travels something like 4 times faster in water due to density. Plus the sub getting it's tin can human holding area crushed might not of immediately impacted a beacon like signal pulse etc from external equipment.

No. It's stress cycling and fatigue. Metal can be stressed and bounce back to its same shape without issue if it's not pushed to far. Carbon Fibers not so much. It's why the tubes were being disposed of. They had been pressurized for air travel and exceeded their useful life. Any fiber sub that could last how you're talking will run past the weight and expense he was supposedly saving

There is a night and day difference between people who live a certain life style of effort and a paid tourist who basically flipped a coin as to where to go. Like Laird Hamilton lives the big mega wave surf sort of existence. That's not the same as a 45 year old CPA trying to surf on vacation in Hawaii and drowns.
You wing suit flyers? Mountain climbers? Cave divers? Yeah all living, training etc to do that crap. Guy going up in a lave setting helicopter ride that whoops crashes? Rich tourist wanting a dinner party story.
It why the best one up in a mid-level rich guy world is oh I did an Iron Man or something of that nature. Something an out of shape slob lawyer at the party knows his money can't buy.

They weren't exploring you dumb fuck, it was a sight-seeing tour of a sunken ship for rich idiots who hired a guy that deliberately built a sub as cheaply as possible, because he's greedy. Not for exploration, not in the pursuit of knowledge, simply to make money and give rich faggots something to do with their lives.

In the Discovery doc they mentioned they found a part of stocktons shirt with a pen still in his pocket and a titan patch on the arm. The bodies were mashed to a soluble paste most of which just washed away. This is in keeping with their desire to join the titanic passengers since thier bodies are gone too having been dissolved by bacteria and eaten by sea life. Sometimes there are just empty boots laying on the sea floor

The media circus was crass as always but I don't see any issue with the search team not pre-announcing the results before they actually found direct evidence. Even if you have a reasonable expectation based on the end of communications that the sub is destroyed you should try to confirm directly with physical evidence before you make a publicly announced conclusion.

It did 90, but only 13 of those were deep dives, and they had to make a new hull in 2019 after the first one developed a massive crack after just 2 deep dives. So yeah, the best hull only lasted 11 deep dives, and during the ascent of last one (dive 80) there was a huge pop and it was effectively broken then - meaning it was only capable of doing 10 deep dives 'safely'.

Right, so an absolute reckless retard made a first gen prototype do 10 deep dives safely. You saying someone smarter and more careful canโ€™t make one do, say 100 deep dives safely? Or more? Look at any first iterations of technology, they are almost universally shit and fail a ton. Iโ€™m just saying everyone saying this is evidence that material canโ€™t possibly be used for subs, I see the opposite. A bad actor made it work 100 times(10 of them deep dives). On a prototype.

If you have taken a chemistry lesson you'd remember the idel gas law ehich goes like P*V=n*R*T, P being pressure and T being temperature. They are proportional tomone another.
Pressure instantly goes from 1 atmosphere to 400 when the walls breach, that's going to be a 400 times increase in temperature. Assuming they started out at 300 Kelvin, they'd end up at 120000 Kelvin which is indeed the surface temperature of a star.

No iirc, someone brought this up in another thread. Carbon fibre was rejected originally in subs simply due to how unreliable it was. This was the point of the monitoring system, to try and learn when carbon fibre might fail. That was the only innovation.

So let's assume it was consistent thanks to the new monitoring system (it's not, it's still inconsistent and can't predict the exact moment of failure).
You could not even go 1000 meters without hearing some level of popping. This means even if it did work and they could predict a fail, it's not able to go even half way. Deep dives are unfeasible as you can't surface fast enough.

The actual cost saving for shallower dives? It sounds good at like 1/10th per hull but even if it worked it's still going to be less safe for those. He was advertising to millionaires and spending over 100k per hull anyway. You may as well up the cost to the millions and get a real submarine.

All evidence indicates the implosion was sudden and without warning. The failure occurred somewhere near the front dome where the view port was and everything in the sub was violently forced backwards into the rear dome.

At the beginning of the doc I was thinking that the pop-sound warning was such a stupid idea at these pressures because it the sub failed it would just collapse on itself so quickly that you wouldn't have the time to react and go back to the surface, and yet, throughout the doc it kinda proved me wrong? As in it did seem to work for his first dives, the sub was POPPIN without collapsing, but the dumbass Stockton didn't even bother with it? Pretty insane level of grifting

actually Sound travels much faster and farther underwater than in air (about 1,500 m/s in water vs 343 m/s in air). Military and research-grade hydrophones (underwater microphones) did detect the Titanโ€™s implosion as an acoustic anomaly. However, it was inaudible to human ears without specialized equipment, and especially not to anyone on the surface or nearby ships. It wasnโ€™t audible to human ears in the normal sense.

Faster than the body can acknowledge anything is wrong or to even feel pain. You die faster than the signal can be processed. You're there then you're NOT.

There may have been a few sounds of creaking and them going 'what was that?" and Rush saying everything is fine, only for seconds later for it to catastrophically collapse and they're now the texture of jelly or jam with some torn clothing mixed in with smashed bones. the seacreatures had a feast that night.

Tony Nissen co-designed both Titan vessels (the first one that Stockton "seasoned" and that cracked and had to be retired and the second one that was "stronger" but eventually imploded. He tried to silence the whistleblower David Lochridge for pointing out the flaws in his designs. Nissen should have been criminally charged.
