So my collection is really piling up now, got Storm Warning, Sword of Orion, The Stones of Venice and Minuet in Hell on physical CD and while I can ignore Minuet in Hell I am so totally in love with the eighth doctor's first three outings especially his opening scene where he's introduced talking to himself in the tardis and the R101. I also got Scherzo, The Creed of the Kromon, The Natural History of Fear, The Twilight Kingdom and The Next life on CD too recently but those were mostly disapppointing except for Scherzo and The Creed of the Kromon was fucking shit even though I like the character of Crizz. I'll have to relisten to those other ones since I was probably too tired when I first listened to them.

There's literally a page for him, not even his user page, just an actual page as if he's as relevant to DW as any of the Doctors. kill me
"Cookieboy 2005", a title embodying a name they thought of as a child, was the main alias used by a mysterious renegade TARDIS Wiki editor from Earth, who travelled through time and space (one second at a time) with various thoughts in an obsolete and "borrowed" brain. They were "the universe's not-quite-greatest defender", having saved the cosmos not once across an average life, becoming a footnote throughout the universe.
They sometimes had controversial opinions on what subjects should be within the TARDIS Wiki's scope, such as suggesting minor licensed cameo appearances, such as the TARDIS's appearance in Demons & Angels and the Torchwood logo's appearance in The Lying Detective, should have resulted in their respective episodes being covered in full, in a style akin to The Man from MI.5's treatment, although they conceded in cases such as Ted 2. They were a believer in the fundamental interconnectedness of all things, which may have had something to do with this.
Many of their contributions focused on minor background appearances or mentions, such as "NASUWT", "Stun rod", and "Timberland". Above all, however, they were a big fan of crossovers, contributing to pages such as "Batman", "Dipper Pines", "Roger Mellie", and "Joseph Dredd". They ultimately met their end when, upon attempting to dematerialise their stolen Type 50 TARDIS, they blew themselves, the ship, and the whole of Slough off the face of the Earth.

It's funny, cos I wonder where Cookieboy goes at random. Maybe it lands on some outcrop by the sea. And there's a tribe and they worship it for 100 years. Then they grow up and try to burn it. Then they get wise. They preserve it. Then they build a city all around it, till Cookieboy is just a tiny little dot, surrounded by skyscrapers and monorails. Time passes and the city falls. It all gets swept away. And there's Cookieboy... still on its outcrop... by the sea. She's the only thing I've got left.

>>211962977The solution would be simple; when it starts to become more and more separate from Who, it should be done on a case by case basis
Does any other fandom wiki have stuff that's several degrees separate from what their focus is?
It's one thing discussing something like a Star Trek comic featuring stuff from the Doctor Who crossover, it's another thing entirely to canonize a shitpost comic about Peter Griffin
>>211963062Gevity was used in a story made by someone who got permission of the copyright holder for a DWU character. That means that Gevity is a part of the DWU and any official appearance of Gevity used with permission of the copyright holder is a part of the DWU.
>>211963149I'm not autistic, so that bullshit won't work on me. It's not Doctor Who related.
>>211963140The problem with a case by case basis is that it allows things to slip through.
>>211963177I do not comprehend. Let me explain again. Gevity is an element of DWU that has interacted with canon characters. Therefore Gevity is canon and anything that uses it with permission of the copyright holder is canon.
>>211963308Gravity is on the same tier of canon as Big Finish, yes? So of course gravity is canon. Every source is equally as valid. Whether that's a television episode or gravity.
>>211963177That's the point. It shouldn't be considered canon, it isn't canon, and the only faggots who think it's canon are mentally ill wiki admins. The actual star wars universe itself is canon to doctor who according to them, because a tranny wiki mod bought the rights to a who character, then inserted an ocdonut to interact with them. The same ocdonut troons out (I'm not even kidding...) and appears in a star wars story the author wrote, making star wars canon.

>>211967802deep inside 15th's rectum
>>211967697It's obviously correct, because Tennant plays the 10th Doctor, so when he comes back as the Doctor he's still the 10th Doctor.
>>211968103There's not much to elaborate on. Once an actor is established as the Doctor he's assigned a number and that never changes. When Peter Davison showed up in that special with Tennant, he was the 5th Doctor. No one said, "Well, this appearance happened after the 10th Doctor, so he's the 11th Doctor!" That would be obviously stupid and wrong. When Tennant came back in Day of the Doctor, no one said, "Tennant is playing the 12th Doctor because he appeared here after the 11th," he was just the 10th Doctor re-appearing in the show.
Speaking of DotD, not every Doctor even gets a number, as seen with the War Doctor, so the numbers could be seen more as names or designations than strictly appearance numbers (as we already know they aren't, since re-appearances don't get re-numbered). So that brings us to Tennant reprising his role as the 10th Doctor once again for the RTD2 specials.
Tennant has been established as the 10th Doctor and that has been reaffirmed on his subsequent appearances in the show, so why would this time be any different? The 13th Doctor regenerated backward into a past incarnation, the 10th Doctor, as indicated by the fact that he's played by David Tennant who is, in Doctor Who canon, ALWAYS the 10th Doctor when he appears as the Doctor. Regardless of how or when Tennant shows up as the Doctor, he will always be the 10th Doctor.

The problem with the TARDIS Wiki is their neutral point of view rule which treats all media and writing equal. Fact of the matter is, it isn't equal. It makes sense for most franchises, but not Doctor Who, even with lore inconsistencies aside.
They can commit to the idea there is no canon as much as they want, but it doesn't make it any less true. Most fans would agree with this.
Ideally the wiki should have something similar to their valid/invalid source system, but tiered. There really isn't any better way to document a franchise that was never designed for such an in-universe wiki and loose copyright. Needless to say, when the wiki gets to the point when they're having to canonise Family Guy and Star Wars fanfiction, and also stories where the writers have deliberately written them knowing they'll get on the wiki, then they really need to look long and hard at their rules of what they cover.
I've seen that Peter Griffin Gevity comic get mocked not just here but on many other fandom spaces. How these wiki editors don't see that article as an embarrassment is beyond me. Surely not all wiki editors are happy about this?

>>211978612oh no! the shitty tv show had a shit thread!
>>211978506not really until NuWho, at most the Seventh Doctor had some intruige and mystery added into his past but nothing was spelled out. during the NuWho revival he became the last of the Time Lords, he ended the Time War, so he started having all these special titles/notions piled onto him. but it was the Chibnall era that did this retcon to make him the source of Time Lord society.

>>211967681Those are the Disney+ subtitles you retard.
>>211978023They did commentaries for the 60th and a few episodes last year. They haven’t done any since though.
>>211974640Indeed, it is amusing. In an advert before the film started as well.
>>211978802With RTD, it felt like the Doctor was mostly a chosen one from circumstance, of being the last of the incredibly powerful race of Time Lords. Power that no one man should have. But then of course there was Jesus Doctor who came to save us from our sins.
With Moffat, it wasn't just that the Doctor was the last of his kind, but that he was the shining light of universe that would fight the monsters and make them run away in fear because he's the Doctor.
With Chibnall, the Doctor was less of this in the moment to moment but became too important to Gallifrey's founding as the sole cause of Time Lord society.
>>211979783And back to square one with RTD2. Now I feel any new showrunners will think this is what makes up the show and will feel they have to include it, making the Doctor a superbeing.
