The amount of people that wanted this track to play is insane. It was spammed to an annoying extent in Weeks, I hope it never shows up again in the franchise.

There is no way to say this without offending people, but the problem is unironically media literacy. Not to say that if people 'got' all the literary and historical allusions then they would necessarily love the film, but they would be able to make more intelligent criticisms than grumbling about proper zombie-survival etiquette, inconsistencies in the 'lore' (lol) and complaining over lack of jump scares (double lol).
People do just unironically seem to want televised YA lit, it's why Marvel was so successful.
>>211938930i saw speculation that the infrared shots of infected were actually nightvision POV and that the NATO soldiers were there either to rescue the doctor or investigate the virus mutating
hilarious to compare these "theories" with the actual film

It just reminds me of Lost before the finale. I can't give you a bullet-point list or whatever of why the movie didn't work, it just felt like the movie had real bad, dishonest vibes, like it was trying to trick people into thinking it was saying something without saying it.
>>211938518 (OP)i thought the baby was going to get eaten lmao
>>211938930>grumbling about proper zombie-survival etiquette, inconsistencies in the 'lore' (lol) and complaining over lack of jump scares (double lol).I love this shit. If you are actually realistic about the standards of the horror movie genre then 28 Years Later is basically Shakespeare

>>211945065WHAT ARE THE CHARGES?
>>211938518 (OP)the hate kinda feels similar to how people reacted to "The Menu". Basically a lot of people feeling confused and not "getting it", but instead of seeing themselves as the dumb one, they blame the movie.
The movie was perfectly acceptable.
Why did the pregnant zombie hold hands with the mom instead of trying to eat her?
The shilling and cultlike vague praise for this shit is truly unbelievable. No wonder they kept Cilian Murphy for the sequel as more bait after this piece of shit. That's their only hope of getting anyone to go see the already made sequel.
>>211938518 (OP)The only real problem I have with the movie is the alpha somehow not getting killed. Like, how the fuck did he get back onto the mainland? Why didn't the boy kill him when he was tranquilized both times? Couldn't the kid's island just stab him to death when he fell face first on the floor? Very odd he gets plot armor.
Besides that, the movie does feel like the first of a trilogy..and it doesn't have as much action sequences as 28 weeks did or feel as self contained as 28 days was.
I liked it though. I will wait for the next part.
>>211945820There were multiple alphas. It was implied it was a mutation branch.
>>211945572Probably because it was in the pangs of birth?
>>211945820Pretty sure that was a second alpha after the one that chased them on the first day. And the reason he was kept alive because the doctor was studying him.
>>211938518 (OP)I’m waiting for the Wokefax. If it’s woke I won’t go see it.
>>211945572the infected are living humans whose brains have been driven into an instinctual primitive state where the default is often rage or hatred to those not infected. The pregnant infected woman was probably in pain and scared, and that took priority in her brain.
>>211946331>>211946582Oh. They looked kind of similar though. Same actor? Plus, the kid still should have killed it. It's going to come back for its kid as a obvious plot point for the 2nd/3rd film.
>>211946331This is the problem I have with the direction of the franchise, they made it too video gamey.
They tried to do The Last of Us zombies classes with bloaters or some shit. Even those arrow shots were a lame attempt at making some kind of finisher animation.
In the original films, It's a virus that makes you go crazy and die from dehydration in roughly a month, it was a grounded take on zombie viruses which is apart of the appeal
>>211938930>media literacywhat the fuck is there to "get" in the film, it bashes you over the head with its messaging while also going "woah look at this sick killcam on all our zombie kills and our 28 inch zombie cock!!", it doesn't match
>>211946640There were basically no non-whites unless you count the alphas being a bit brown, and the fat bottomfeeders being kinda asian (oriental) looking.
The gate master is a woman, and the senile mother had a switch on moment where she kills a bottomfeeder with her bare hands. That's pretty much the only stuff that could be seen as woke.
>>211945304It's funny because I actually do compare it to the Menu in that it has slightly-less-than surface-level themes and due to that pseuds go on about how people just 'didn't get it' when in fact it was just a mediocre movie
>>211946719IIRC the writer or director is a big Resident Evil fan and loved the OG games. He made the infected fast specifically because he thought the slow zombies (in the games) became unthreatening too quickly.
I seriously can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would outright love this film, 28 Days is one of the GOAT zombie films with Weeks still being a very solid sequel even if it's not as good.
Yet I watched this shit in theaters and I legitimately wanted to leave about 2/3rds the way through the film, I've seen takes that people only hate it for it's retarded ending, but the pregnant zombie scene was just as fucking stupid, and unironically might be one of the worst films I've ever went to the theaters for.
>>211938518 (OP)The guy who's making the elden ring movie is the guy who wrote this movie (Alex garland).
Based on how the movie was written, how will the elden ring movie turn out?
>>211946879I don't feel smart for getting it. But I don't want to repeat the same lines of arguing I did for The Menu, where I pointed out the average hater DIDNT GET IT as evidenced by their posts, therefore their criticism is largely invalid.
>>211946975Tbh i think people just really want it to be good so they're wiling to fake it, unless it becomes too shit to bear anymore . Like the later seasons of GoT
>>211946975the moral of the film is that Jamie is a boring beta male who cheats on you anyways, but the retarded savage alpha zombie has a 12 inch cock and is really actually a soft guy on the inside.
really there was no reason to have Jamie cheat on his wife other than as a way to assassinate his character. it could just as easily have been on him and Spike's hunt where they saw a glimpse of Kelson's fire. and Spike simply could've wanted to save his mother because she's his mother, no muff-eating infidelity required.
>>211946975Seriously, some of Ralph Fiennes' lines felt like it came from nu-Star Wars. That 'memento amori' line made my eyes roll into the back of my skull
The big penises were disgusting. They were deliberately trying to trigger conservatives. It would be like if the alpha zombies had MAGA hats on. The stereotype is all conservatives have tiny penises and that's why we drive big trucks. It's obviously bullshit, but liberals can't help but be try to be bullies and insult conservative viewers. It's ridiculous.
>>211947107How did a kid who nearly died multiple times while being escorted by an experienced adult get back home, then literally less than 24 hours later goes back out with a braindead cancer patient and get along perfectly fine?
>>211938518 (OP)>much higher cinema score than the VVitch and Hereditary >”why do people hate it?”
>>211947207The penis thing was there to demoralize as usual. Leftists hate traditional art, which prioritizes classical penises as well as female nudes.
>>211938518 (OP)from what i remember it was "if you have aids the zombies leave you alone" lol
i think most people found that premise stupid rather than all the excuses other people have made up that didn't watch the film at the time
>>211947235idk. they could've easily cut to a montage of more hunting trips over maybe 6-months to a year to emphasize how Spike was becoming more confident, too confident. then he arrogantly believes he has enough experience to escort his mum through zombieland.

I thought the rage virus made everyone kill each other. Wouldn't she kill her own baby after giving birth to it? Why would the alpha procreate? Wouldn't he just want to rage out and murder? The movie killed the lore.

>>211949505I legit thought I had gotten a weird edit of the film the first time it happened, it was such a whiplash having just watched 28 Days Later earlier that day
What was there to get? Honestly asking. It feels like the second 2/3 of the movie was made up on the fly by mashing together a variety of ideas, none of which amounted to anything deeper.
>>211949916Exactly.
Whole movie could have been the first 1/3rd.
>>211949010>doesnt even touch on zombie elephant cock>doesnt even touch on the shit acting>doesnt even address they already had a sequel in the works>doesnt mention the retarded concept of a plot they chose over the more natural one set up in 28 WeeksYou could go on all day with the shit this movie fails at.
>>211949963It felt like a netflix series where they condensed an entire season into one movie without actually developing the plotlines first. The first part was the pilot, then the rest was random bits from other episodes thrown in.
How the kid took care of that baby and brought him back to the colony was a miracle.
The first third was retarded enough with 'characters doing shit that makes no sense' which has been typical of all his movies. But it worked. It was fine.
Then they decide to tear apart the cool dad and make him le toxic male and turn it into a weird self discovery movie etc.
If they had just stuck with how the first act was, it would have been tolerable. Very retarded but basically sensible.
>>211950181Imagine if the movie was about the dad and son needing to find their way back to the island
Infinitely better premise
The Power Ranger ending was the best part of the movie. Everything before that was idiotic. At least it felt like a bonkers British film like Clockwork Orange. And that child actor is WAY overrated.
Several times in the movie people in the theatre were laughing, I’ve mentioned numerous fucking retarded flaws in this thread but a movie in this particular series let alone genre shouldn’t have lines about Botox and iPhone filters and instructing an infected like a dog to make the audience laugh.
God the more I think about what I just watched the angrier I get.
Remember when joking about Jim turning into a serial killer in the 3rd act of 28 days was an outlandish thing?
>>211950365I thought that's what it would be. And maybe they send out a rescue party. And maybe some sort of zombie army forms. Idk. Endless possibilities. >>211951157I guess caring for Spike made him more sloppy and less sharp?
>>211951204Not at all
The gigapajeet alpha magically finds the hiding spot, and then punches through it with no problem.
The hiding spot being who knows where considering the dr isn’t shown to have any actual shelter outside said hiding spot. So many questionable editing choices.
>>211951204there is no way you can explain it, he said iodine and an ankle deep river is all it takes to avoid zombies for 15 years while building a giant fucking bone temple it makes no sense.
>>211951157The kid lured the alpha there and it was looking for its baby afterwards
>>211951285The amount of stuff in this movie that makes no sense is endless
Like, a little creek keeps the zombies away? He is portrayed as living in this total safe haven where everyone just relaxes and has their emotional climax
And then the next day actually it gets completely btfo
Actually I suppose this follows dream logic. It makes sense to find the safe place and relax for a bit and then after the needful is done it's no longer safe and you have to leave. But. It makes no logical sense. Only narrative sense
>>211951315We can theory craft all we want but I’m talking about what is presented in the movie through what is shown and what is shown is this nigger just homing in on their hiding spot and grabbing fiennes and killing him if spike wasn’t there, like any other time in the last 15 years.
I’d love to talk about the birds being telepathically linked to the alpha as a way to see beyond what’s in his vision but it’s like 3 throwaway shots never actually addressed.

Also one thing zombies suck at is fine motor control. So you think there would be various obstacles on the causeway that would slow humans just a little but would be massive impediments for zombies
Also there would absolutely be a gate there at the start and likely ramparts and other defensive fortifications. Why not? What would it cost them? Plus probably various like treehouses and other things scattered about in case they were needed. And they absolutely would have trade and relationships with other towns.
And they would not send two guys alone outside for no particular reason
I mean even in the comparatively reasonable first act it's still just ludicrous all the way down

garland asked his wife to take a look at the script.
his wife walks in, takes a gander at the scripts tells him:
>its an okay script, ally, but ill tell you whats missing. i think they should leave the capable toxic father behind, because his just a cheating asshole like all men, and the son and mother should go out on their own and hmmmm how about his, how about the mom, despite being a crazed cluster B nutjob riddled with brain cancer, about half way through the movie, goes full yas queen to help another female zombie and then a giant jason momoa-looking zombie with a giant dick - which we will show, we will show this giant jason momoa penis a lot - chases her because the giant penised jason momoa zombie might look like an enraged psychopath but actually hes a loving father unlike that PIECE OF SHIT white man back at the house who cheated on me.......i mean her. i mean cheated on the mom. put that in!and then alex garland proceeded to re-write half the movie

Are the zombies a metaphor for the overrunning and destruction of the UK by ME scum?
>>211970695>How many times does a character get saved or killed by someone materializing out of nowhere?this is actually the one fair criticism of the movie.
however the only reason it isn't an issue in every single zombie film is because most zombie films literally introduce characters so they can kill them off, and only the protagonists are constantly saved by contrivances.
it's one of the features of the genre that makes it seem superficially edgy to brainlets: you have a monster that would be fairly simple to deal with but make them seem more dangerous by just throwing character actors with two lines into a meat grinder.
by not doing this and having actual characters with arcs and relationships, 28 Years has actually improved on this--- but at the price of taking away the feature that impressed midwits.
>>211971114But why is the movie telling me it's bad? Can you explain?
>>211971197That's honestly what the first third or so felt like. They say horror movies are manifestations of the collective unconscious. This seemed like the collapse of globohomo and retvrn to tradition. It was borderline based. Then it went off the rails

>>211971267Or they could have just set it up so the characters stayed alive without absurd close calls and contrivances. Like for instance some sort of gate to the causeway? Or defensive structures that humans could navigate but zombies couldn't? Or not have guys blindly shooting arrows over the wall?
Anyways there are a million other similar criticisms that is hardly the only valid one.
>>211971311because movies written for adults don't usually get stuck in a good/bad binary. stuff can be in between or good or bad when looked at in different ways.
like how the movie ends with Spike meeting his Evil Tragic Dad, in contrast with his Good Flawed Dad.
>>211970928I don't understand how people on a board devoted to watching films can do such a poor job of following them.
There are not that many infected left. Throughout the film, the only time you see them is when characters go out of their way to track them down. The father and son at the beginning go out with the specific intent of finding some to kill and it takes them all day. The mother and son only find one when she goes out of her way to track down the pregnant one.
I see people in these threads complaining about this, like
>there were hardly any zombies>the son and mother walked for days without any danger>how did the infected not starve to death?Clearly, the vast majority did. All that's left are a few isolated bands managing to survive eating deer and the like.
They're essentially wildlife at this point. They're dangerous to humans, yes, but they're not an active threat unless you go out of your way to find and antagonize them. There are no swarms of infected beating down the walls of the human settlement. The roles have been reversed, where it's the infected minding their own business and living their lives until humans enter their habitats to seek them out to kill them. They even seem to be managing to procreate and the father seems to recognize that he might be in the wrong when he hesitates to shoot a child zombie. I think it was an interesting theme, definitely not something I've seen in any other zombie fiction, and I hope it gets developed further in the sequels.
>>211938721Yeah, how dare someone try to discuss a film on the fucking film board
>>211971357It is and isn't. It keeps dipping its toe in things but not really committing to it. Like the zombies being humanized and giving birth and having names and stuff. And the archers are le bad or whatever that was. Then it returns to absurd ninja turtle cutting them to pieces. That was the whole movie. Toying with themes but not actually adopting them. So it has the vague appearance of meaning something but ultimately doesn't
>>211971404>Throughout the film, the only time you see them is when characters go out of their way to track them down. No, this only happens twice. Every other time, they appear unwantedly. Like in the field with his mom or killing the Swedes.
>>211938518 (OP)It filtered millions
>>211971391>The murderous cannibal zombies are actually... le gray. This is le depthI guess I'm just not "adult" enough for this
>>211971518Surely those two were the same incident. The Swedes spent who knows how long bumbling around, having no idea how to act to not attract attention, and eventually ran into a pack. That same pack spotted the mother and son, which is why last surviving Swede happened to be right there in time to save them and felt obligated to do so.
I saw the Jimmy Saville clips and now have no hope for it. Will still watch because Danny Boyle always does interesting things on the technical side.
>>211971370you're clearly mad about a specific thing that happened in the causeway scene (I can't tell what).
instead of getting bogged down in a discussion of details, I'll say that shitloads of classic movies have stuff that is no less (or more) contrived than this film, including 28 Days -- while 28 Weeks is literally nothing BUT contrivances. you probably already didn't like it for some other reason if you weren't engaged enough to accept that stuff.
the amount of whining about the second half of the film alone has convinced me that a lot of the audience simply didn't accept that Spike was "allowed" to be the main character or something or that his relationship with him mum was worth any screentime.
>>211938687none of it was good
>>211971570all the movie did was have a character who's cope for the apocalypse entailed not killing every single one he saw. it didn't insist that your white daughter marry a zombie according to the tenets of Sharia law.

>>211971455>It keeps dipping its toe in things but not really committing to it.film series tend not to be written all in one go before the film is started (this was, all three movies are already written).

>>211972235>This is just wrong though. The entire point of the father and son leaving in the first place is looking for something to kill. They're basically on a hunting trip. They found more than they wanted, sure, but they still had to travel all day. The dad knows what he's doing so presumably they were going directly into infected habitat.
If the infected were still an active threat then it would have been easy to have some of the typical hordes of infected attacking the walls of the human settlement. The only one that comes anywhere near is one that they actively sought out, antagonized, and led back. The doctor has lived in the middle of the forest for decades with seemingly very little in the way of defenses.
The vibe really seemed like, "if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone". But humans are never content to leave anything alone, are they?
>>211972391yeah when I was walking into 28 years i was joking with friends that at least it couldn't be as bad as 28 weeks, which was total dogshit, and I was wrong.
>>211972235>Which makes no sense because the thing then comes and is one inch from killing him the next dayYes, its a stupid viewpoint. Its not an unrealistic one or one that doesn't fit in anyway.
>But wait I thought they were endangered wildlifeNot me
>>211972325>the director considered the story done after the kid leavesIt's a trilogy, little bro. The father is going to be in the next film.
>>211972325It literally says in the casting description for 28 Years Later: Bone Temple that Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character is on a quest to find his son
>>211972235>Which makes no sense because the thing then comes and is one inch from killing him the next dayBecause it was looking for the kid who killed his girlfriend and took his baby, which is why the first thing the doctor says after being attacked is
>I think it's time for you to go home
If Alex Garland had full control of this movie we wouldn't have gotten this quirky dogshit
>>211972456>The vibe really seemed like, "if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone". But humans are never content to leave anything alone, are they?I don't consider that the vibe considering they live in a walled fortress and were terrified of going outside.
But anyways what's the point? Why shouldn't they exterminate them? Because they're... le good or something? No they're not they are murderous cannibals beyond reason
>>211972502>>211972492okay but I haven't seen that movie that doesn't exist yet so I'm talking about this movie and what's in it
And even if that comes true it doesn't change the point I made. Danny Boyle 100% filmed this thinking the father is the villain and he expects you to agree
>>211972560It definitely felt like a heavy feminine influence in the latter parts
>Let's turn this into a character study about relationships and weird mystical moon runes and shit
>>211972235the doctor isn't "insane" but its very clear that not killing zombies is part of his characterization. its a different perspective.
you want the movie to tell you whose side you're meant to be on, or maybe the problem is that you like zombie movies because of how straightforward that question is normally.
even having a character die voluntarily (because of a regular illness) in a zombie film is actually pretty subversive and I guess not everyone likes that.
>>211938518 (OP)>white, homogeneous community portrayed in a positive light>why all the hate?flags besides posts would answer your question
>>211972560I don't have a problem with a movie being quirky or doing weird/different things because I've seen so much trash, it's fine, the problem here is that it was very, very amateurish and not well done. And added nothing.
It just felt like they were going through the film in editing and adding some stupid effect or gimmick idea to every scene. so dumb.
WHOA HERE'S SOME MEDIEVAL ARCHERS BECAUSE THEY'RE USING BOWS WOW THIS SAYS SO MUCH ABOUT HUMANITY
eat my shit lmao
>>211972617This. It’s cool because a lot of people are just way too comfortable with zombie films being about killing zombies and feeling good about it. By humanizing the people infected we are forced to un-otherize them.
>>211972617>you want the movie to tell you whose side you're meant to be on, or maybe the problem is that you like zombie movies because of how straightforward that question is normally. No, I just think toying with 'actually zombies are le good and people are le bad' is retarded.
>>211972679kek this is literally what I was mocking you guys for
>>211970928 and got a million replies telling me why I was wrong
>>211972617>trying to pretend peoples issues with the movie are about pretentious issues like having their expectations subverted when it's so much more simple and basic: the movie is poorly done, periodkek
Yeah "mental health issues are bad" sure was subversive. "doctors can't cure everything" I'm not sure I can handle it. "A pacifist in a violent situation" god damn so zany literally never seen that before a trillion times
just lol
>>211972600>okay but I haven't seen that movie that doesn't exist yetit does. it was already filmed.
the third one is also already written. Garland has done something I don't know that has ever been done, and actually planned out and written a whole film trilogy in advance.
so this movie wasn't ever going to tie everything up.
>>211972749I can't believe cope like this is real
Yeah and they're going to save Star Wars with the sequel. Are you retarded?
I DO NOT CARE about movies I didn't watch. I watched this movie.
>>211972683>'actually zombies are le good and people are le bad'28 Days has the rapey soldiers an Cillian uses an infected soldier to take them out.
so it was always doing this you just didn't notice.
people being LE BAD is literally a core theme of the zombie genre anyway.
>>211972575>and were terrified of going outside. They didn't seem very terrified to me. The mood was excited and happy. All the villagers were cheering for them as they left, everyone was laughing and smiling, they had a party planned to start as soon as the two got back, etc. They didn't have to leave; they were doing it as a fun excursion, rite of passage sort of shit.
>But anyways what's the point? Why shouldn't they exterminate them? What's the point of trying to exterminate them when you can just leave them alone? These aren't magic evil comic book zombies; these are people with a disease. Who knows what's going on in their heads? If you go out of your way to find and antagonize a grizzly bear then it will kill and eat you, too. That doesn't mean you need to track down and exterminate every last one of them.
Look, clearly you came into this wanting some Marvel slop and you have no interest in a zombie film with any kind of attempted deeper moral themes but as I said earlier, I think it's an interesting direction and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it in the next couple films.
>>211972847this nigga typing up all these pretentious ethical dribble and I'm just thinking of the power ranger jimmies summersaulting around
>>211972783>I choose to stay madcongrats lol
>>211972683>>211972746>>211972575>one doctor character in a movie is a pacifist>act like this is some massively unrealstic jump the shark moment>when pacifists literally exist in real life, regardless of whether you think their views are retarded or notyou guys remind of blacks and the way they can't use the empathetic part of the brain or visualise anything other than whats in front of them in that moment
>>211972912I wish I could get mad at bad movies. Just bored and annoyed I wasted my time. I suppose annoyance is a form of mad.
>>211972914But that's literally what you're doing with my comment
>this guy raised one issue with the movie, THAT MUST BE HIS ENTIRE POINT, HIS ENTIRE CRITICISM OF THE MOVIE IS BASED UPON THIS ONE COMPLAINT HE POSTEDliterally doing what you're criticizing others for
>>211972847>Look, clearly you came into this wanting some Marvel slop and you have no interest in a zombie film with any kind of attempted deeper moral themes but as I said earlier, I think it's an interesting direction and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it in the next couple films.I came into it with zero expectations. I enjoyed watching it. But the attempted depth didn't hit for me. I think the 'maybe zombies are le good' is an awful trope and I don't think any of the tropes were actually explored or fleshed out so it all amounted to nothing.
The entire gimmick boils down to: big zombie dick lol
Sex sells for women but not men so im guessing their plan backfired for good reason
>>211972886there's more than one guy who liked the movie ITT
>>211972930interested if you could list the most recently viewed films you enjoyed.
>it humanizes zombies
Didn't Bub do this 40 years ago?
>>211972914>>211972617>trying to pretend peoples issues with the movie are about pretentious issues like having their expectations subverted when it's so much more simple and basic: the movie is poorly done, periodThis is the post you replied to
Let's go through it slowly
>trying to pretend peoples issues with the movie are about pretentious issuesOkay let's lock that in our brains big boy. I'm saying that the issues with the movie were NOT about these pretentious aspects, such as a pacificist doctor in zombie world
>when it's so much more simple and basic: the movie is poorly done, periodI am saying that the doctor WASN'T the issue
You then replied
>one doctor character in a movie is a pacifist>act like this is some massively unrealstic jump the shark momentLOOOOOOOOL
>you guys remind of blacks and the way they can't use the empathetic part of the brain or visualise anything other than whats in front of them in that momentLITERALLY
FUCKING
YOU
>>211972886Power ranger jimmies was pure fucking kino and I hope they're the focal point of the next film. That said if you think anything I wrote was "pretentious" then you need to leave this website until your 18th birthday because everything I've said is incredibly basic entry level morality.
>>211972989>I think the 'maybe zombies are le good' is an awful tropeYou're in good company then because the movie never implied anything of the sort. Is a bear "good" when it avoids people and "bad" when it kills them? It's just a part of nature, acting instinctually. Again, these aren't classic supernatural zombies, these are people with a disease. If they're not an active threat and there's no harm in leaving them alone, what's the reason for going out of your way to track them down and fight with them?

>>211972985Sorry, I just found it funny that so many of the criticisms of this movie are that its 'humans are le real monsters' but then one of your criticisms was the doctor doesn't go hard enough on the zombies
>>211973085???
First half was good when he went out ranging with his dad. Second half was poor because it felt like there were no stakes. You could tell that nothing bad was gonna happen to the mom and the kid in terms of the infected. I felt the party that went out needed to be bigger and have impactful deaths or at least some kind of infected attack on the town with some losses that they maybe contained. Also, why could the Alpha control the crows like Saruman sends out Crebain from Dunland?
>>211973159>If they're not an active threat and there's no harm in leaving them alone, what's the reason for going out of your way to track them down and fight with them?Because if you see a bear from afar it doesn't sprint at you and try to tear you apart?
Also I don't want these things propagating and becoming an accepted population and beginning to be considered fair and hecking valid and sympathetic and deserving of life and then basic rights and then living among you and all of that. That's how you end up with 5 billion Indians and Africans and having to invite them into your country.
>>211972989>I don't think any of the tropes were actually explored or fleshed out so it all amounted to nothing.stuff like the pregnant zombie, Samson reacting to the pregnant zombie being dead, all the doctor's monologuing etc, WAS the movie exploring those tropes.
if you simply aren't interested in that stuff, it just means you also were never going to be receptive to them being explored. but you're acting like the theme was both in the movie (and annoyed you) but was somehow also not done in a way that "counts". you don't sound bored or annoyed you sound triggered.
>>211973343>stuff like the pregnant zombie, Samson reacting to the pregnant zombie being dead, all the doctor's monologuing etc, WAS the movie exploring those tropes. In what way? What did they mean? What was the import of them? It all just happened. There was no meaning.
>>211973340>/pol/ incel sees everything as an analogy for his incessant seething over the existence of brown peopleAh, ok, your posts make a bit more sense now. Well, since you were busy thinking about India instead of watching the movie, you may have missed all the shots that made it obvious that this is a Man vs. Nature morality setup, not Whites vs. Africans.
THE WORST, and I mean LITERALLY THE WORST thing you can do in a horror movie is to present utterly retarded characters, and the second half has one of the most retarded couple I've seen in my fucking life. The Power Rangers saved the movie tho.
Are we still doing zombie movies with the theme "maybe le humans are the bad guys" in 2025? LOL...LMAO even
>>211973306>i liked the part where humans fought zombies but it got boring after that when there was too much talking and not enough fighting zombies>i wish there are been more big zombie battles, woo!I think you may be more at home watching something like Last of Us, you'll get plenty of pointless fanservice shit like
>infected attack on the town with some losses that they maybe contained
>>211973773Humans are literally the bad guys, though. It's never going to stop being relevant commentary because it's never going to stop being true, so get used to it I guess.
>>211973833Just because it is consistently relevant doesn't mean it isn't redundant, played out and beyond boring at this point.
>>211973793To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand 28 years later
The themes are extremely subtle and without a grasp of "Memento Mori" most of the scenes will go over your head
>>211973049Did Bub have a huge dripping cock?
>>211970298the alpha was originally going to be hard
>>211972914>28 years doctor>imma pacifist>imma spend precious wood to prematurely overcook a sick woman because i want my skull totem bigger. i might had collected funko pops when zombies didn't exist or i might had been a /tv/ poster owning a plex server and hoarding terabytes of media and that might explain why i need to collect skulls so hard that I'm doing a express euthanasia on this mom's kid. But you know. I'M A PACIFIST>Where's my mom?>Here kid, take a look and put her back in the totem. You can't take her with you because, you know I'M A PACIFIST
>>211974146I mean, as I've said a few times in this thread, I've never seen any zombie fiction that shows us a post-zombie future where the zombies have essentially become wildlife on a game preserve and the only time they're a threat to humans is when humans go on excursions to hunt them for sport.
If you want to interpret this as "humans are the bad guys" then I'm not gonna stop you but even the film itself is pretty clear about not all humans behaving this way.
>>211974571I wonder if they keep the British in zoos in other countries.
>MUH ZOMBIES DIN DU NUFFIN DEY WAS GOOD BOYS JUST FORAGIN N SHEEIT
>>211972914Zombies aren't even alive, pacifism with zombies is always retarded like in the Walking Dead.
>>211974503>You can't take her with you because, you know I'M A PACIFISTShe was going to die a horrible, painful death. Cancer is not a pleasant way to die and hers was obviously very advanced, or did you miss the part where she spent half the movie with either amnesia or a splitting headache and had cancer metastasized to her breasts and lymph nodes?
If she left then there was no guarantee that she wouldn't get eaten alive by a zombie the next day. If you're going to die a painful and prolonged death very soon, unavoidably, and there's a strong possibility that you may die and even more painful and violent death even sooner, with the added bonus of being an extreme risk to your healthy son, and you have before you the option of a peaceful and painless death, you'd be a fool not to take it.
