>>211942377 (OP) Gareth Evans saved action cinema, with The Raid. Every filmmaker from every other country on EARTH took notice and said, "holy shit. We need to step up our game" after that film was released.

>>211942377 (OP) There are a few neat fight scenes but that's about it. The car chases were all CGI or at least very heavily used CGI with bizarre movement physics for the cars that might have been a stylistic choice but instead made it feel like a shitty weightless video game. The raid movies also had no plot and no real characterization but they were still way better for whatever reason.
>>211942377 (OP) Agreed. I was hyped for literal years for this movie. On paper at least, it had all the makings of a potential masterpiece. >Tom Hardy >Timothy Olyphant >Forrest Whittaker >directed by the guy who made The Raid >written by the guys who made Logan, Alamo, and The Highwaymen Ended up being complete dogshit. Bummer.
>>211942583 Tried to watch it after seeing every incel jizz his pants over it and of course its amateurish slop.

>>211942560 >omg the good guy did a 36 hit combo to the bad guy and then slo-mo jump kicked him through glass!! And then the bad guy got up after that!!! SO EPIC
>>211946314 I finally cancelled my Netflix a few months ago when I realized there is something really wrong with the way they are making their movies. They peaked year before last with Leave the World Behind and The Killer. But now it's all A I. tier slop put out with a big name director attached to it. It's all soulless slop with big name actors and directors attached that simply come for the big $30 million dollar paychecks. But there's no creative minded producers working behind the scenes holding everyone accountable and instead it's algorithm technical engineers there to ensure all the right digital metrics are hit and there's enough big looking shots to make a good looking trailer that will keep people subscribed until the movie comes out. Then the movie comes out and it's hollow soulless slop but it doesn't matter because they already got your money up front by keeping you subscribed. Then rinse and repeat with another soulless $200 million dollar movie starring The Rock and Ryan Reynolds or with a big name director attached. Then make ake a good looking trailer to keep them subscribed and repeat the cycle.
