People say, "Oh, Pulaski is better than Crusher! She actually has a personality!" and while this is true, yes, unfortunately for her it's Dr. McCoy's personality that she has in a performance with none of the upright moral certitude or the easy southern charm. She is frigid, unlikable, and her opposition to this show's Spock has none of the playful banter that is elemental to the latter's relationship with Bones.

Her portrayal is framed even more negatively when played against Data who is one of the most likable characters of the show. It was just never going to work.
Also, she was the only cast member that couldn't get along with anyone else. They all hated her because she hated them but they loved each other.

That's simple. They're timeless and endlessly rewatchable. And new people get into them all the time and they come here to discuss them. Stories told in TOS, DS9, TNG are still relevant and worth discussing today. Because they were actual stories told by actual storytellers.

I don't know if I want to disagree with you, because PIC S3 was in fact very confused and aimless. I do think it had a few pearls in the swine-muck, namely:

>Worf finding a path of peace that still marshaled his warrior sensibilies and discipline
>Riker coming out of the shadow of Picard and actually pulling some real rank
>Picard facing his decision to put Starfleet over family and the consequences of that
That said, I am in fact grasping at straws and will admit that. It was however more FUN than Nemesis - the actors seem to really feel like this is their last hurrah and have fun with it in a way that's palpable (especially the very last scene). Nemesis felt like them reading lines for a paycheck. My 2¢
