If it were made today, Carmella and Meadow would be constantly in the right and have strong feminist arcs, no way they would be portrayed as being enablers and benefitting from Tony’s criminal activities.
Adriana would have more agency and not just be a dumb blonde tragic victim of Christopher and the criminal world. She probably eventually leaves and becomes immensely successful away from her previous criminal life (and the token lesbian naturally).
The mobsters would rarely get a win and have no redeeming characteristics, the mobsters general bigotry, misogyny and violence would face more immediate repercussions and never be romanticized to any degree. You would be getting a stolid morality play preferably given by African qweens.
There would be no racial or any other kinds of slurs, and the show would completely lose its edge. It already showed signs of this in its final season. If the Sopranos were made today would be closer to Nicky Deuce in tone than the og version.
It really was a show that could only have come out when it did.
