With cost of production so low and IPs being thrown around without a care and multiverse shit being used to sell even more, it's impossible to keep up as a collector in anything. I'd rather own nothing than force myself into a competition for biggest fan that's only won via pocketbook. And I know, technically it's always been a money competition, but at least with things like rare comics and such they didn't do variant covers and stuff aimed directly at scalpers and desperate collectors.
