If Shogun s2 is just adapting more James Clavell novels, then that. Otherwise I'm not excited for any of this garbage.

was there actually anything else to adapt? i heard from some anons that the end of the season was pretty much the end of the novel. But well i heard the novels are based on an actual guy some maybe they will mix some of that with the scripts.

Great job ruining your own poll, people interested in Shogun are more likely to click on the thread and vote for it.

He has additional novels that take place in various places in Asia but no follow ups to Shogun specifically. The main character of Shogun basically falls out of history but Toranaga has a decent amount left to do, from the battle of Sekigahara (which is what the show just about leads up to) to The Siege of Osaka which is the end of that era and the begin of the 250 year Tokugawa Shogunate. If they wanted to they could also go beyond that. There's enough drama in the early decades of the Shogunate to tell stories based off of. They could also do a prequel focusing on renamed Oda Nobunaga or renamed Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

I just don't think they do a show focused 100% on Japs. Worst case scenario is we get Shogun but it's about how Yasuke actually saved Japan.

"Tai Pan" is IMO James Clavell's best novel but Hollywood would fuck it up just like they did with Shogun.

>Shogun S2
Wasn't the whole book told in season 1? What are they going to do with season 2? Pull more story out of their ass? Unless i am wrong since i have not read the book.
