I bought a bootleg VCD collection of this series. Never finished it. Torrented it years later. Never finished it. Bookmarked it on YouTube when it was on there. Never finished it. Listed it on Tubi when it was on there. Never finished it. My only hope would have been if the lads at snug added it to the rotation and I caught it as background noise.

The first season is on Plex and maybe Tubi. Tobe Hooper directed the first episode, which is Freddy's origin story. There's also a free live streaming channel called Horror Stories that plays it a lot. Freddy's only the main antagonist in 9 episodes. He's just the narrator for the rest, though I guess it's implied he's causing some of the "bad" things to happen. There are a few good episodes I really like and some awful ones as well. Second season starts to go off the rails about midway.

Robert Englund claimed the problem with the show was they had a really low budget and that's why it didn't work out. It wasn't syndicated and they tried to sell it to networks after making it. The writing was also a problem I think though... between the art studio loft, love triangle house, and cannibal episode, season 2 gets pretty bad.

I legit watched this as a kid in 1988/1989. I stayed up late to watch the premiere and it freaked me out so bad my mom made me stop watching it. I was such a little bitch. Anyway, Freddy later became my favourite movie character from ages 11-12. I dressed up as Freddy for Halloween, twice. I had the replica glove and mask, dolls, all that shit.

Years later I met Robert Engund in person. First thing I said to him was Freddy’s Dead was awesome!. He laughed and said β€œyeah it was awesome”. We chatted and he told me some funny Wes Craven stories. Cool as fuck.

I haven’t thought about Freddy Kruger’s TV show for maybe 20 years.

Thanks for the post Anon

It's funny that Tales from the Crypt dropped in quality during season 2 after Freddy's Nightmares was cancelled and because the people who worked on that went to work on TFTC to cut the budget and it shows.

But I will say that I do love FN's aesthetics as it was shot on video and ties into my love for SOV Horror movies....

Sorry, went to sleep early and just saw this. These are my favorite posts on /hor/.
Jessica's been in a ton of stuff, but if we're talking strictly horror:
Suspiria
Phantom of the Paradise
The Evictors
Safe
Nightbitch
Suspiria remake
Bones and All (haven't seen yet)
Takes form the Crypt/Darkside guest appearances

Other essentials:
Shock Treatment
Inserts
Stardust Memories
Love and Death
Pennies from Heaven
My Favorite Year
The Blue Iguana
Minority Report
Taking Off (1971) is also a fantastic film if you wanna catch her first on-screen appearance, as an audition singer no less.

It's less overly comedic/"campy" than the marketing implied (tone is more in-line with the first movie, a tad sillier) but yeah I thought it successfully pulled off the "M3GAN vs grown up assassin M3GAN" concept that they went with.

Also I successfully predicted in /hor/ that this chick was playing another M3GAN as soon as the casting was announced.
Amazing casting decision, she looks like M3GAN without even needing to use a mask + CGI like the actual M3GAN actress does lol.

I honestly think it will. I've seen complaints by people that they made it too "memey" or that they "leaned into the gay stuff" when that was really the marketing trying to appeal to teens and the actual film's humor is in line with the director's other films.
I wish they toned the marketing down and portrayed the film more accurately.
