Great cast.
Great ship.
Fair adherence to canon.
Wrecked by combo of tired time-travel plots and endless serialization.
The few self contained episodic episodes it had, were good episodes. The series should have been a lot more of that.

yes the Serialization was exhausting.

Star Trek is always about the stories and Berman never had a good feeling for stories. On TNG it was mostly Piller who made the right calls on what ideas and stories were turned into episodes. On DS9 it was Piller first and later Behr. On Voyager it was mostly left to Taylor after Piller left. On TNG they would often take in stories submitted from outside the studio. That never happened on UPN.
