Now many of you have been very patient in waiting for these videos, and for that I’m very grateful. Others of you have not been so patient to the point where I’m actually taking time out of this review to talk about it. Let me say this once again, since apparently it was not made clear when this video series began. History of Power Rangers has no set schedule. Videos are done when they’re done and will be released when they’re done. In case you haven’t noticed I’ve been more than a little busy the last few months. If you haven’t noticed, wake up already! I attended Power MorphiCon, FallCon, did a very complicated ending to an episode of Atop the Fourth Wall, released additional videos in October beyond my regular workload, did my regular workload, which consists of an episode of Atop the Fourth Wall every week despite conventions and other difficulties, one of those difficulties being moving into an apartment. In addition to that people don’t seem to realize how much work actually goes into these videos. Here’s the process, I watch the entire series which, for those of you at home, is around 40 episodes at 20 minutes each. That’s roughly 13 hours straight, if I was watching them all in one day. Which I’m not. Oh, but it gets better. Because I also am writing up a synopsis of the important plot points of the season, as well as writing down character notes, themes, et cetera, et cetera. Which means I’m pausing the episodes so I can write. Once the season is completed, I have to finish my notes and analysis. And then, I watch the next season and repeat the process.

Mystic Force through jungle Fury were all a downgrade from the peak of IS-TF, I never got this zoomer narrative about Disney being full of good seasons. WF was a Saban produced season, Ninja Storm is pretty bad, DT and SPD are ok, but none are as good as LS/TF. The series only ever got good again for RPM. Lost Galaxy is my favorite, has my favorite Red Ranger, and contains many of my favorite moments, but the story is too all over the place for me to call it the best. It's the characters that save it (especially the villains).

I think Time Force is a very strong contender for the best season. The story and pacing were good. The characters were good. There were some very cool dynamics provided by Eric, Ransik, Wes's father. I can't remember anything I disliked about the show.

Lightspeed Rescue is underrated and my personal pick about for best season. I think it represents very well the idea of a Power Rangers team - they feel the most like superheroes here because of how much focus is placed on saving civillians. The team is constantly upgrading their arsenal or finding new ways to fight the demons, so they have some of the coolest weapons and Megazords in the entire series. The demons are my favorite villain faction because of how much organic infighting there is (caused by nepotism of all things!) and Diabolico is an absolute GOAT. The Rangers themselves unfortunately don't have as much character as in Time Force or Lost Galaxy, but they still have enough quriks to be remembered, and Carter and Joel carry this season hard.

This was the peak here. Final pay off to years of build up and character development - Bulk and Skull being the actual through-line protagonists of the series and going from idiot bullies to underdog heros was just great.

It was sort of a shame the series stopped interconnecting after Space, but at the same time, it was good that the story had a proper book end here.

I felt like Mystic Force wasted the magic theme and the family aspect focusing so much on Nick.
Would have been nice if the other rangers were folded into that as some kind of found family over arcing plot.

I appreciate Time Force's ambition but the entire racism storyline they add on top of Timeranger is kind of half-assed. Like in one episode it is shown that future society is so racist that one mutant kid got cryofrozen because he stole some vegetables not to starve, and the Rangers not for one second do some soulsearching over being the enforcers of such a society. At least the Timeranger counterpart of ths monster was a bombmaker so it was at least a more dangerous crime. Though Ransik is such a kino character that this is forgivable I guess.

Also Frax for some reason keeps attacking the city after leaving Ransik. It made sense for Gien to do it, but Frax had a very specific vendetta.

Zeo had the best toys, but was the worst TV Show. In Space was the point where they realized they had walked their audience into a place where they had to at least dabble in Star Trek Sci Fi and they made a good conclusion for their core audience basically to tell them "Thank you for staying with us through your preschool and elementary school years, but it's about time you try out Star Trek or something.
