Name a single twist ending in a horror movie that is even close to being on his level.

Sleepaway Camp

Dead Silence, although it would've been even more kino if Tobin Bell played him, would've been a great inverse of Saw's twist.

It falls apart because it relied on happenstance. Imagine if the guy hadn't slumped into the bath at the beginning, or had just lifted himself out instead of pulling the plug. As soon as the lights got turned on, he'd look into the tub, see the key that unlocks his chains.

Sleepaway Camp obviously tops it. Even if it is more obvious.

I rewatched saw
I feel I dreamt up a "twist" cuz it was no there
the father whos kid was dead was going around
letting people who were somehow reponsible die
and I remember that his final test was machine that only two people could operate at once
a machine that would kill his daughter
if he would have save at least one of those people him and his daughter would live..
but he did not save any of them
but I must have dreamt it up cuz it was not there on rewatch
was that in some other movie?

Exactly, I'm assuming the lore has some plan B to make sure he loses the key somehow

Desu Saw II's twist with Donnie is better.

No way, this part is in there to trigger the sadness, melancholy, and frustration that is inherent to the "What if" thinking we all do. And knowing how incredible he is at planning and setting traps, you just know there was at least a Plan C.

Fallen, with Denzel. Not just the twist, the prime execution as well.

If Adam got the key he would just have free roam around the room, which would make Doctor Gordon's side of the game more difficult, it doesn't ruin any part of Jigsaw's plan because it doesn't really matter how the game plays out.

By Saw III they were retroactively trying to expand on this. There were behind the scenes discussions about Jigsaw's apprentice, Amanda being instructed to tie the key to the plug to guarantee Adam could eventually free himself, but in the movie she just throws the key in the bathtub without caring. Jigsaw giving her specific instructions on what to do with the key never made it in to the movie, so whether or not that's canon is up to the viewer.

It's a pretty lame "twist" that doesn't really achieve anything

Not a twist. Or if it is, it's a twist that shifts from Condition X to Condition Y within the span of a minute.

the twist was good but what really did it for me was the credits rolling over the guy screaming that shit was effective as a kid. I don't know any other movie that's done that

I mean you could say that Psycho is on the same level but other than that nothing even comes close. When it comes to characters that deliver a twist there's really just no one like him.
