Smartphones and social media really are poison for storytelling. Are we going to see more writers just opt to set their stories in an earlier period like Saltburn did to avoid it altogether?
You can't make a good movie where the majority of the runtime people just stare at their shitphones.
And if you add closeups of the phones you might just go watch some TikTok garbage instead.
