I liked the theory that Walter White would wander into nearby Area 51 somehow and end up investigated by Mulder and Scully for selling drugs he learned to make from an ayylmao. You're confusing filming locations with set locations. S3 takes place in the distant future and is set in neo-Los Angeles so they used Singapore to show an advanced cityscape. Most of the show takes place in California, Utah and some other places.

It was more that the actor whose character was going to take the fall had established himself as too good to be written off and they couldn’t justify it for anyone else.

Idk about suicide by jumping but it would have been kino for Don to ‘walk into the sea’ just like in that ad he rejected. You could even make it ambiguous, only show the clothes and footsteps. Maybe he walked along the beach and is in a cabana with a honey- who knows?
