The tv show is actually more sympathetic to chuds than the book. In the show, after the squid-attack, Ozymandias installs a leftie anti-cop puppet government which brings about the woke era a decade earlier than in reality and pays reparations to victims of white supremacist violence. The only people who rebel are white supremacists who know the truth about the squid and emulate Rorschach. In the meantime, the even more megalomaniacal eco-leftie daughter of Ozy wants to steal Dr. Manhattan's powers to become a Greta Thunberg god-queen of earth. , and used the squidpilled racists as a smoke screen, hence employing a race-war narrative to distract people from the real problem. In the book on the other hand, Ozy is an aryan Ubermensch who identifies with Alexander the Great, arguably the first great Western oppressor of PoC people (Egypt, Israel, India etc).
