first 45 minutes are entertaining but with ingenuous and out of place things, but it's okay. It has nice moments that get you on the edge of the seat and are tense.

Then on the middle of the movie, the kid gets her sick mother to a doctor by himself. He almost died with his father but somehow he's now capable of killing 50 zombies with one-shots. He and his mother get to the doctor, the doctor drugs the kid and kills her mother, the gives the kid her cranium. Funny thing, the doctor is "a good guy", and they show you all the sequence like if it was emotional and deep. It was comptletely out out of place.

Before that there was a pregnant zombie lady and she gives birth to a baby, but the baby is not a zombie. The kid gets the baby to the base, and then he goes solo in his adventures at 12 years old.

TITLE: "28 days later...". The kid is now surviving in the forest for almost a month, alone, eating fish and killing zombies. All of a sudden a group of jimmy saville look alikes show up doing backflips power ranger style, and killing zombies viciously while laughing. The leader literally looks live Saville, looks at the kid and tells him if he wants to join the group.

The ending felt like if I was watching a different movie.

The beginning of this movie is all fucked up. Once the stinger is over, all we get is a montage sequence and 1 scene with the mom before the kid and the dad leave. They really should have spent more time in the town at the start, and then had all 3 of them go out at the same time. The dad's reasoning that the doctor was insane because he's burning plague-ridding corpses is laughable. I liked the 2nd half of the movie once the kid and the mom leave, but they try and have this emotional sequence at the end with the doctor, and they're flashing back to shit that just happened 20 minutes ago. Danny Boyle ONLY directed the intro scene of 28 weeks, the scene where the guy leaves his wife in the farmhouse.

After this scene, Danny Boyle was distracted with another movie (sunshine, if I remember correctly) and so the remainder of 28 weeks was directed by some other director and turned into a Hollywood action flick with helicopters mowing down fields full of zombies.

At the end of 28 weeks, they show the infected breaching the channel tunnel and reaching France.

There were some arguments over scripts, so the films did not continue. But now they have resolved the drama and so the films have resumed.

Danny Boyle has said to treat 28 Years Later as a sequel to 28 Days Later, and forget 28 weeks later existed. This part is explained away in writing on the screen that says

The art direction and cinematography were good. I really liked the low-res look of the dream sequence near the beginning. I didn't give a fuck it was a weird movie, at least I didnt find it boring.

I just finished 28 Weeks and don't really understand the hate it gets. It felt a lot more thrilling than 28 Days to me. Maybe it's the heavier focus on guns and military that gives you a false sense of security before it's snatched away and shit hits the fan. There were corny moments sure, but 28 Days just felt more like exposition and backstory for how the virus spreads, rather than how it affects the world at large, and I couldn't really take the latter half very seriously. I'd honestly rate them equal, just for different reasons.

I will say that it was kind of weird that the father didn't just say "look son, your mother is very sick, in a way that would have been difficult to treat even with proper medicine. A doctor who's spent the last 15 years playing with corpses by himself has zero chance of helping her. Let's just keep mom comfortable and accept it." It's a bit disappointing when the driving conflict of a film is based on a misunderstanding. I'd have rather watched Spike continue to grow on the island, accept his loss, and become a contributing member of his community. None the less I enjoyed it.

Why were they running away when they could have easily just formed a line and gunned them all down. It annoyed me to see them shooting like half a mag full auto and only bringing down 1.
