Antichrist was bleh four years ago. I did however watch La Petite Voleuse and Charlotte was a cute in that.
Cat People don't care for, seen other Keenskees.
Haruhara-san's Recorder I have ready, and Kanata no uta (2023) also featuring faux-Nanako.

I had a great time with your joint, you don't have to become my rapist now! Thoughts:
I basedfaced on iconic shots, Jessica is a charming actress in this. Her presence commands respect, but I'm sure she's humble irl.
The songs were awesomesauce.
This felt like an angry movie, which I liked. I thought it was taking jabs at Reagan, but all I know of Reagan is from Zappa songs. I also imagine Zappa could've thought of something like this if he was creatively neutered. Not dissing the movie with this statement, quite the contrary. Zappa was just in a league of his own regarding creative decisions.
It was a ball, thank you for harping about this joint. (ahahahahaha)
>>212057328do you have this in letterboxd list form?
I am stout and from the midwest and love The Matrix and Spirited Away. That is real cinema. Jurassic Park, Heat, you name it.
There are very few 5/5s in this world, but Dark Knight, Social Network, Matrix, Jurassic Park, Avatar 2, you know them when you see them. Star Wars 4, fan-edition. Ya know brings a tear to my eye the great cinema in this world. I am in my office crying, because I am overwhelmed with emotion.
Aquaman 2018 is the latest GREAT film I've seen, with my hot dogs, hamburgers, Mountain Dew, dogshit I had the time of my life. I am now binge watching Ted 2 in anticipation of my big Lethal Weapon 2- National Treasure-Night at the Museum 3 Friday night fun.

WORST MOVIE I've seen in a long time
What a steaming, brown pile of disappointment that was. THAT'S 80 MINUTES OF MY LIFE I'LL NEVER GET BACK. Once again lead astray by a 7.1 score on IMDB, what were you people thinking??
Wooden acting, ridiculous costumes, a meandering plot full of holes that made no sense. All filmed by a director whom I suspect of being mentally retarded. 90% of the shots in this movie are of legs and torsos, human or animal. I'm not even kidding. This whole movie is nothing but backs of legs! Guinnevere was pretty convincing in portraying her love for Lancelot, huh? Not. Lancelot was even worse.
Very clever of the director to avoid actually showing us any sets or action. Let's set up a bunch of tents and we'll weasel out of not having a castle that way. The Big Joust: Shot of bagpiper's torso, shot of horses legs, cut to Arthur and the knights in the stands, sound of crash, cut to knight falling off horse. Repeat 10 times.
You know you're in trouble when nothing actually happens in a movie and half the dialogue is spent explaining all the interesting stuff that happened off camera (and in some other, better movie I guess). You know you're in DEEP Trouble from the very beginning, before the credits, with the horrible killing scenes. Knight stabbed in gut with sword, reacts 2 or 3 seconds later "Oh yeah, that was supposed to hurt." Guy with helmet cleaved open who very slowly and calmly lies down on his back to die. It only gets worse from there...
Watch "Excalibur" instead. Much better, despite the annoying music.

Finally watched Three Colors: Red
What was the point of Judge Sr and Judge Jr's life events being identical, like 2 years difference between them and the woman that cheats on them, book falling open on the exam question etc?
Also the main character was a slut that was eventually definitely tapped by the sleazy photographer who she agreed to go "bowling" with after "rebuffing" his advances
Poor Judge Jr is in for another surprise

>>212088960I lowkey think I Vitelloni is a great place to start with Fellini. It's very nostalgic, very personal. And you can get a taste of his signature style.
Another of his earliest and most acclaimed films: La Strada and Nights of Cabiria, but also the underrated Il Bidone.
I think my first was La dolce vitta.
Strada -> Cabiria -> Dolce Vita -> 8 1/2 is the correct order imo
There's no correct order.

After an accidental explosion in the lab, its inventor slips in and out of dream-like hallucinations, realizing that he had given the formula to one of his colleagues, who he tries to stop before it is too late.
Krakatit is a 1948 Czechoslovak science fiction mystery film directed by Otakar Vávra, starring Karel Höger as a chemist who suffers from delirium and regret after inventing a powerful explosive. The film is based on Karel Čapek's novel with the same title, written in 1922. The name is derived from the volcano Krakatoa, which violently erupted in 1883.

>>212101990What starts the "it sucks" scale in your opinion? For me, it's 5/10. 6/10 and above I would generally recommend. If I don't like a film for a major reason, it's likely capped at a 5. If I liked a film overall, the lowest I'll give it's a 6. I hate to sound like Rotten Tomatoes, just being honest.

A pátý jezdec je Strach (Zbyněk Brynych, 1964, celý film, english subtitles)
The Fifth Horseman Is Fear
The Fifth Horseman Is Fear (Czech: A pátý jezdec je strach) is a 1965 Czechoslovak film about the Holocaust that was directed by Zbyněk Brynych. Instead of depicting gas chambers and concentration camps, the film examines the subtler but equally debilitating mental effects of oppression. It gets its name from the story of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse written about in the Book of Revelation.[1]
The film uses expressionist cinematography, and its film score is set to discordant piano music.
