I wasn't bothered by the black guy in this movie, I was rather bothered that they cucked him out of his victory despite the entire movie building up to him being propped up by Pitt. At the end when the black guy's car is busted, Pitt is left with no rival to compete with. This is done to bring up the flying analogy, but I don't think that was the right place to put it, it makes the whole ordeal end in a cheap note.

That was actually pretty accurate. In this era of F1, aero and chassis design are much more important, and engines these days are extremely reliable. After a couple of years into a set of regulations, the kinks have already been worked out.
