I watched both seasons, but so many things in it made it feel like 85% of the runtime was just filler content.

Like, I get that all of this stuff has texture and worldbuilding in it, and on paper it technically involves characters and places related to or relevant to the overall plot, but none of these things actually move the real, central plot of the story forwards at all. Everything about the story was going to happen exactly the same way even if none of the events of the show actually existed. The Empire was still going to strip-mine the spider planet, the people were still going to have their underground resistance, and the Empire was still going to false-flag attack them and crush the resistance because they're evil. Not a single bit of that had anything to do with any of the people IN the show.

Just want to point out that those plot points, and others in OT/PT, represent different things all at once. By the nature of what it is, pretty much everything is multi-representational. The Ewoks being the Vietcong, they are also similar groups in previous periods of war. They also represent as opposites to the Empire, technology wise. That's a deliberate point being made. And then they're cute critters for younger audiences. Have silly fun. Now when I look at Andor, I don't see see layers of different meanings being interwoven. It's more like... see these ppl, they are the poor illegals like in real world, who just so happen to also be engaged in a war against their host-nation... but lets not think about that. Forget I ever mentioned it. Anyway, seemingly according to the makers, the point is that they're poor illegal aliens, but they're actually the most heroic heroes (you bigot), and that's about it. The episodes often just end abruptly without concluding anything they set out to do, including the finale. Main character is a charisma vacuum without a shred of personality, who dies in the spin-off prequel where he was introduced—and where his entire character "arc" happened. Other characters are just as dull. None of them behave like real people, everything is taken over-the-top seriously and lacking soul and humanity, which comes off as automatons going through the motions the writer requires them, and not how organic, real people talk or act. Season 1 - Pretty good.
Season 2 - Ridiculous race-mixing propaganda. We are given a beautiful White young woman character, an oppressed citizen, virtuous and virginal. And for no reason whatsoever White girl becomes enamored with the brownoid rebel boy with his faggy brownoid greasy hair who is a complete bitch boy that does absolutely nothing of note but cry and whine. So the most beautiful young White girl on the entire planet happens to look at this brownoid once and she has sex with him immediately that same night, and then she follows him around the entire galaxy forever and ever.
This race-mixing exhibition has no contribution to the greater plot in any way whatsoever. The producers just insert scenes of the White girl laying in brownoid's bed, neither character doing anything at all, NOTHING. Barely any dialogue at all and nothing remotely consequential. But star wars just shoves it in your face.
