The script is out there. It has no characters from the games and no relation to any of them. At best, you might be able to construe it as taking place before the first game.

The cutscenes of RE2 remake alone are better than any live-action depictions of the franchise, and it uses white models with American voice actors
The original movies are fun in a slop way and I still enjoy them but I understand if people don't.
Welcome to Racoon City is okay for the first sort of half before going completely off the rails in the second half and I suspect they cut out a good chunk of the movie to keep the runtime low and to shit it out.
The Netflix show was... pic related.
I find these adaptations are pointless because they have nothing more to say, zombies have been done to death and we know the stories and fans wanting to see it again but with different people are just eh.

Welcome to raccoon City is based. It's a modern carpenter movie, largely faithful to the games, and a fun time. I saw it twice in theaters and loved it. I literally guarantee this will be worse.
