If you have no connections and aren't actively working to network, just writing away and hoping your stufff is oh-so-good that it gets people to give you millions out of sheer reverence is fucking insane and will not happen. Hollywood is finished, but then again, so is every creative media field in the West. Why would you bother?

I wrote an entire 70's hard-edge thriller with tits, ass, guns and machismo and then realized, on the final page, this would never get made but I had a fucking blast writing it. It was very cathartic to let loose and not have to worry about opinions and restrictions. You guys should write because it's an innate pleasure of yours, not for profit.

It’s a long shot, sure, but what else can you do?

I want to write screenplays for shitty z tier movies that may actually get produced but I keep adding things that makes the budget go up. Writing for one location or a small cast is hard. Should I just learn special effects instead and write a horror movie around horror set pieces?

What software do you guys use? I got the FD 30 days trial and it's clear why it's the most used. It's by far the most crisp and professional. i don't want to go back to using writerduet and fadein but i also don't want to pay that ridiculous pricetag.

I wrote 5, but realized making a movie fucking blows so dedicated that autism into game programing and made an indie game. No regrets, film is dead anyway.

I've written several screenplays. They go nowhere, so I post them on AO3. They go nowhere there, either. Then Hollywood just leans on the same small group of writers they always do, and people get bored to shit and stop going to the movies. Can't imagine what went wrong.

I just use a Word template that I made like 30 years ago. Now it's a LibreOffice Writer template. It does everything I want, including switch to the next logical style at the end of the paragraph (e.g. transition -> slugline -> description -> character -> dialog -> character -> dialog etc.) but I can change the current paragraph style by hand. There are character styles for "First character", "Parenthetical", and "Detail". Why would anyone need more?

A movie starring a young Greek man living in poverty. The first half of the movie would be about how he and his family is poor due to the generational trauma of Greek being colonized by Turks 200 years ago. There would be flashbacks to those times, depicting Muslim Turks raping Greek women, forcing Greeks to convert to Islam, etc. Then the protagonist gets a lucky break - he saves a tourist from drowning, and the tourist turns out to be a wealthy Russian businessman who rewards him with enough money to fulfil his dream - move to America and enroll in college.

In the second half of the film, he struggles to adapt to life in America. His Jewish history professor assigns his class to write an essay about colonialism. He writes a paper about the Ottoman colonization of Greece, and his professor fails him and tells him that only whites can be colonizers. Later, while walking alone, a Jewish Antifa student attempt to assault him for the paper. The assailant is portrayed as short, ugly, and scrawny, and he kicks the shit out of them. He swallows his pride and writes some paper he doesn't care about and passes his history class, along with all others. While walking alone again, he is ambushed, sucker punched and killed by a black man who was paid off by Antifa. At the black mans trial for murder, his Jewish lawyer attempts to get a lenient sentence by claiming that his client was suffering from generational trauma caused by slavery. The prosecution then brings in some surprise testimony from the murdered Greeks father, who was paid to be flown to the trail by the Russian businessman from earlier. The father tells of his sons life in detail, including his family's history of oppression. The jury is moved and convicts the black man of first degree murder and life in prison. The black man then snitches on the Jewish Antifa kid who paid him. The movie ends with the execution of the two men, found guilty of murder.
