Maybe I'm older than the target audience was but for me Blue's Clues was something I watched because I was home sick from school and nothing good was on until like 1PM. In that sense I have fondness for it but I would never go out of my way to watch it again nor would I want an "adult continuation" of it. It's a show for literal toddlers.

The traditional milestones of life (buy a house, build a career, have kids etc) have been massively pushed back or eroded completely so people are infantalised to a massive degree and fall back on the blanket of comfort or nostalgia.

Your parents and their parents adapted to a world that doesn't exist anymore and they failed to teach you a multitude of things and then laugh and mock you for it. The generational warfare of the old attacking the young has created this situation.

So we are stuck in arrested development, where people cannot move and progress. It doesn't help that so many people had shitty parents that never taught them the basics of running a household or progressing in life.

So now we just get people excited for childish slop.

Steve's really well-spoken and leverages the Blue's Clues nostalgia in a good way. It's a bit schmaltzy and lame but I think he's a good guy. This will be better than the Ned's Declassified kids doing a similar thing but the podcast turning into them revealing how weird they are and that all the kids on that show were having sex.
The Tiny Chef thing was a one minute video that was just incredibly strange and emotionally effective. I doubt that really means much in the long run. Also, some of these adults have kids. Easy to forget.

I watch shows for babies because I have three children aged three, two and four months. I don't trust television to not slip subversion gayshit in, so anything I want them to watch I have to be prepared to sit through myself.

Blue's Clues is fine. Alphablocks, Numberblocks and Ms Rachel (minus the episodes with the tranny looking guy guest-singing) are all better.

The big problem is around pensions. Look at the UK. Many decades ago there were 20 working age people to every 1 pensioner and pensioners were largely in poverty aside from the very wealthy. Now there is like 3 working age people to every 1 pensioner and working age people are more likely to be in poverty.

The liberalisation of financial services made pensions into a huge pot of investment money for retirement that became a huge dominant force of financial power and influence. The UK has things like the triple lock pension guarantee from the government which will bankrupt the country.

When the 2008 financial crash happened or when covid bail outs happened, there were huge transfers of wealth and assets from working/middle class people and the government to protect assets, assets largely in the hands of rich older people. You can't let a company fall because then jobs get lost and the government has to support them, but equally when the government bails out the economy it is paying people with assets to maintain their position. With assets you are safe and buy more assets. Entrenching the problem.

In the next 10-20 we are going to see one of the largest wealth transfers in history as older people die off only it won't be a clean transfer because families will be divided, stuff will be taxed and it'll be a serious conflict between the haves and have nots.
