After finding out Carmen is quitting and leaving her and Nat to split their half of the ownership she gives him shit for her only finding out about it now - but she's had that version of the contract for weeks, if not months, the only reason she didn't know about it before is because she didn't look at it, and she didn't look at it because she was thinking about leaving herself.

Not only that, but after giving Carmen this load of abuse, the moment he starts implying he's known all along about her weighing up going to work with Shapiro she immediately tries to cut him off and then tries to blame him for the fact that she wanted to go work for someone else.

Season 4 felt short
I get that it's rebuilding the team and connections with the undercurrent that shit is going on with Carmy and he's likely going suicidal but no arcs seemed to end. I couldn't imagine getting through this any way but a binge.

That said, there's a lot of great times in it and I'm glad the restaurant is growing.

When IASIP does it, they're the obvious butt of the joke. When The Bore does it, they expect you to get invested in these characters and how "tough" their struggles are. I don't know how so many people take the show seriously, most of it is grotesque overacting over mundane situations. I've been in some really bad rushes when I worked at a restaurant, where people actually need these jobs to survive (unlike this show's MC, who could just sell the place but instead wants to build some pretentious hipster joint), and nobody acted half as hysterical as these guys act when there's a minor inconvenience. So many people miss the details of her career, I think maybe it's because she looks and sounds young and still lives with her dad, but even her living situation is connected to her career. Her catering business failed so he had to move back home. She's a partner because she knows both ends of the business through first hand experience, she's just not as famous as Carmy. Had she been more assertive with him the restaurant would have been a success. Which is why that guy was trying to poach her for his own restaurant.

Mind boggling they didn't give Syd good character arc.

Richie, Marcus, Tina and to an extent Ebraheim, since it's quite late into the show, get good character development and background where you learn how they got to where they are and how they change things up for the better.
Whereas with Syd it was she loves food and she is kinda broke and gets praise from everyone without seemingly any adversity.
They added in her dad having a heart attack and a whole episode with her conflict between choosing between restaurants but they barely added anything to her character that we don't already know from the first season.
