Holy hell, this thing is a mess. Corenswet looks the part when he’s standing still, but the second he opens his mouth it’s over. Dude has zero presence—he’s like a cardboard cutout, capable only of CW-tier acting and screaming like an angry toddler when he's supposed to be angry. No charm, no weight, no real Superman vibe. Every emotional scene falls flat because he delivers lines like he’s reading a cereal box. It's like they picked him because he's tall and bears a passing resemblance to Cavill and called it a day.

Brosnahan as Lois is hot, but she talks like she’s doing an SNL skit. She’s quippy as hell in every scene, even ones where someone literally dies. No real chemistry between her and Corenswet either—it feels like watching coworkers try to flirt. I was shocked how flat their dynamic was. They gave her a ton of screen time too, so it’s not like she didn’t have a chance to land it.

The tone is all over the place. It tries to be lighthearted and nostalgic but then swerves into melodrama and bad CGI alien fights. Hoult is LAUGHABLY over the top as Lex. Fan-film tier. Beyond that it's just bland punch-ups with secondary characters that have no personality. Honestly felt more like a bad pilot than a proper Superman reboot. People were laughing in the wrong places. Some walked out. It’s bad, bros.

None of this is true. I saw it tonight and it is a true return to form. Acting, music, effects are all top notch. The scene where Superman takes all the nukes in the world and bodyslams them into India was a bit much, but overall great movie.

As it should be. In a Superman movie, I expect Clark, Lois and Luthor to get most of the attention. Characters like Cat Grant, Guy Gardner, Miss Tessmacher, Superman Robots, Ron Troupe, Ma and Pa Kent, etc. are there just for world building.

Let's be honest. We've had 27 years of superhero movies, from Blade to Thunderbolts. There's a good term: capeshit fatigue. Almost everyone has it at this point. It's time to move on to other genres.
