He wanted Uma to do her own stunts on Kill Bill for authenticity. She begged him not to make her do the stunts, but he was adamant. Since they were close friends, she swallowed her fear and did the stunts. However, one of the cars involved in a stunt was not correctly designed. As a result, she got in a terrible car wreck and received permanent, career-ruining injuries. Quentin and Harvey lost all interest in her afterward. When she asked to see footage of the accident, Harvey's company said they would release it only if she promised not to sue them.

Also sucks that we’ll never get Kill Bill 3 which was supposed to take place now-ish with the characters all older featuring Nikki’s Bell (kid of Vernita Green who was killed in front of her by Beatrix Kiddo in the first film) on a revenge arc potentially running into BB Kiddo (Beatrix’s Daughter).
It would have been awesome and they could have cast Uma Thurman’s daughter, but we’ll never see it now.
