M3GAN poses as a dancer to gain access to Christian at a tech conference, but a nervous Gemma calls him on her phone, allowing AMELIA to trace the call and find him. A Chinese state representative meeting with Christian is assassinated, and AMELIA kidnaps Cady before escaping. The group takes Christian to the bunker, where he explains that the Motherboard is hidden deep within the old headquarters of original manufacturer Xenox, with a security system that requires Christian's hand geometry to be accessed. After building a replica of the hand for M3GAN, the group forms a plan to get inside the vault, destroy the Motherboard, and rescue Cady.>Christian incapacitates Tess and reveals to Gemma that AMELIA is in fact under his control - he had deliberately created and manipulated her in order to stoke fear of AI, which he believes must be under complete human control and to that end intends to persuade the leaders of the G20 to approve regulations ensuring that AI is eliminated from the global economy. He then disables both M3GAN and AMELIA. Since Gemma refuses to help him, he orders the installation of a neural implant to enslave her. Unbeknownst to him, M3GAN uploaded herself into the neural implant before her body was shut down and helps Gemma escape. This shit is so convoluted

Megan is very stiff and robotic in the movie. Most of the movie is this slow boring drama with very obvious and cliche plot points.
The movie would have been far better if Megan had a personality and the dancing shit was what she was programmed to do. Instead of telling boring bedtime stories and creepily sitting in a chair watching the girl sleep, she could have danced. The conflict between the robot and the woman who made it could make more sense if Megan is constantly dancing and knocking shit over and being a bad influence to the little girl.
The movie was just boring and lifeless. Kangaroo Jack-tier deceptive marketing.

I'm not kidding
>>212174054The first movie had a lot of success because it was championed by the gay community. Since the first movie, the left has gotten extremely anti-AI, the WHOLE left. A very specific subset of the religious right is the only anti-AI sensibilities on the right and this movie isn't something people on the right are going to see. The reasons the left is so anti-AI are compelling reasons normal people should be pro-AI. This movie even somewhat made fun of the leftist sensibilities that are anti-AI. It pretty much boils down to this: "we're authoritarians that want to dictate your reality to you and AI has the potential to act as an arbiter of truth that completely sees through and crushes our ideology."

Itโs not like proper names, places, you know, minor details, could ever hold any significance in a story or anything. Nope, just shiny distractions for us simpletons. Iโll be sure to enroll in Plot Comprehension 101 to avoid such egregious errors in the future. Perhaps you could grace us with a masterclass on how to ignore pesky details like, say, characters or settings, and focus solely on le vibes of a story? No need for pesky details like motives character arcs or worldbuilding to cloud the crystal clear genius of robot bad humans good. I mustve been dazzled by the sheer audacity of a synopsis so elegantly barebones it could fit on a napkin. Here I was foolishly assuming there might be layers perhaps a reason behind the robots vendetta or a twist in the narrative beyond smash humans but I see now thats just my feeble mind grasping for complexity where none exists. Your wisdom has shown me the light: its just a robot with a grudge no need to overcomplicate it with thoughts. Ill keep my coping to myself next time and stick to nodding along with the profound clarity of evil robot go brrr. Thank you for sparing me from my own dimwitted tendency to overanalyze what is obviously the most straightforward plot since stick figure battles were scrawled on cave walls.

>>212170963 (OP)Didn't they make this into an action movie, and not a horror movie? Why would fans of the first care about seeing it? Did they expect a little girl doll to become the next Arnie that could sell anything?
>>212201419All indications pointed to M3GAN being exactly that.
>>212172012im no homophobe, but when he says "i'm not a monster" in the idea that he would treat a gay person badly was so fucking embarrassing ... this is a guy who mutilated women, but he cares about the feelings of gays?!
>>212172012you can have fun with your literal fag icon
I'll keep stroking to M3G because I'm straight
I got my ticket to support the movie. I can't do much more than that.
It will be a day 1 blu ray purchase for me when it comes out.
>>212185552MIGAs cannot conceptualize values beyond their jewish currency
when are they releasing the official m3gan sex doll?
>>212178066That's a spinoff with a different cast, apparently aimed at a more adult audience. M3gan won't be in it.
>>212201613bought one too in support of the cvnnybot
>>212202005I expect one of the things in the glass cases from the dumb conjuring-style room of haunted crap in M3GAN 2.0 will be the mcguffin in that.
>>212201419it doesn't even have much action.
>>212202050it does, but it's mostly back-loaded
The whole "okay m3gan we'll trust you to help us fight this assassin robot" should've happened 10 minutes into the movie
>>212170963 (OP)I'm almost glad desu. The movie (probably accidentally) works very well as a satisfying end to M3gan's story. I don't see where a third could even go without spoiling that.
>>212202247the ending for this movie is such a clucterfuck. it's fucking awful. confusing. convoluted
>>212203261they should've honestly gone with the fake-out twist of m3gan being behind everything, that would've been cooler
>>212186667Extremely unlikely that the budget would have been as low as $15 million, considering the first movie was $12 million and was a huge commercial hit. Why do you think they released the sequel in the summer? Because they thought it would have "blockbuster" appeal.
>>212203311or make it that the new evil robot girl was in control and she was faking
>>212173669>final girl hasn't been the most over-used horror trope since the fucking 1970s
>>212201419>Didn't they make this into an action movieThe director decided that he should write the screenplay this time, instead of getting the writer from the first movie back to do the sequel.
>>212202045The room caught in the destructive EMP blast?
>>212204425Yes.
"SOULM8TE" or whatever it's called takes place in the 90s.
