Its amazing that the scale model hulls failed at less than titanic depth and he still went ahead with full scale and insisted on personally being in it during the first dive to 4000m. His reasoning seems unsound.

ok

so

CBS Sunday Morning just released all their OceanGate footage, and it's honestly some of the best for insight into Stockton Rush's mind

the Behind the Scenes sections is pure Stockton Rush just spewing bullshit after bullshit after bullshit

it's actually mind blowing

BUT

the MOST INTERSTING thing was that thsi footage COMPLETELY EXPLAINED why the only thing that survived from the people on sub was
>Stockton's sleeve
>Stockton's pen
>Oceangate stickers
>Stockton's Business Card
this was revealed in the most recent report, and I was wondering how the fuck do all of those survive, why just a sleeve, and how was the pen intact.
And why the fuck did he even have a pen on the sub in the first place.

then I saw it here at 26 minutes and 40 seconds
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnorjKO_sZY&t=1602s

HE HAS A FUCKING SLEEVE POCKET, WHERE HE KEEPS THE PEN, WHICH HE USES ON THE TOUCH SCREEN
HE MUST HAVE HAD THE STICKER AND USINESS CARD IN THAT POCKET TOO WHEN IT IMPLODED
THAT'S HOW THEY SURVIVED
THAT'S WHY HE HAD THE PEN

so my conclusion is they shoulda just made the sub from the material that his sleeve ocket was made out of

Whats most baffling is that the retard started panicking on that test dive. He was clearly fully aware that its a death trap that wont survive repeated dives. How did he manage to convince himself to get back into the sub after that? He was literally pissing and shitting himself and aborted the dive

Anyone who has worked with carbon fiber could have instantly told you making a submarine out of it was just fucking retarded.
It might be stupidly hard, but it's not very tough. It has no flexibility at all and due to the nature of it, it also has no uniform structure and it's impossible to guarantee it wont have or develop weak spots.

They may as well have made the submarine out of glass. Would have been safer.

Yeah but he sent his designs off to NASA who oked them, and he had tons of engineers working for him.
Anyone who works with carbon fiber regularly could have instantly told him that it's not an appropriate material for something like a submarine. But all these supposed big brained people with their computer simulations but 0 practical experience working with carbon fiber said nothing or even said it'll work fine.

After watching like 4 documentaries.
Stockton was kind of retarded but he did achieve going to the titanic with his paper mache sub. So he definitely felt like he was a"owning the libs" and they were stupid. But it turns out he was just extremely fortunate it didnt break each time he went down

Yes, NASA basically designed the submarine but didn't do any of the manufacturing. A bunch of retarded egg heads basically did computer simulations instead of actually testing the materials the submarine would have been made with.

The only person who did tests decided to ignore the results of them all (because it failed every single time). Then got himself predictably killed.

If anyone at NASA had worked with carbon fiber before, they'd have instantly said no this is a retarded idea and it will fail 100% of the time.
