Only because they made the opposition so comically evil. In a vacuum turning the minbari religious caste into a unipolar empire is a profoundly shit move. It could be they were trying to make both sides flawed, but as kiked as B5 is I wouldn't be surprised if the writers see them as 100% the Good Guys.
