Take this with a grain of salt but Superman is out during most of the movie. He apparently gets kidnapped by Lex Luthor and housed in a place full of kryptonite made by Metamorpho. It's Lois Lane and the Justice Gang that rescues him, and this happens often. Krypton recues him, the Superman robots defends him, Lois Lane rescues him, the other heroes rescues him, Metamorpho protects him, and so on.

There's always a scene where he has a weakness exposed or comes in contact with kryptonite, but that is just a temporary thing. The difference is Gunn is making him weaker by default the entire time, not because he's exposed to kryptonite or anything, that's just how he is in this movie.

Superman has several weaknesses, Luthor is smarter and more cunning than him, his personal connections make him vulnerable and so does his inability to be in multiple places simultaneously.
You can tell in OP image Supe's is about to deliver a "I need a vacation"-tier quip, any second now, Gunn is twisting the source material to fit his very narrow range of talents.

I'm honestly not sure where the impression that Superman never struggles or bleeds against his enemies came from. Like any comic character he gets beat up quite frequently. I've said it on /co/ a million times, but the idea that superman is the best at everything is fucking awful and needs to be reassessed. The strongest hero should be WW or shazam (cause they're literal gods), but the fastest should be flash, smartest should be batman (only taking the big hitters of JL), etc. Superman should always be a pinch hitter. "oh we need someone super strong but WW is busy elsewhere, get superman" sort of thing. This concept that he should always be indestructible makes for a boring narrative. There are no stakes, unless they convolute a way for him to be weakened. Literally the reason they invented kryptonite. so having him be very strong, and very fast and very sturdy is good, but dont make him the best at those things, otherwise the story will always revolve around "superman meets a bad guy, bad guy weakens him, he outsmarts him some other way, he wins". making him not indestructible removes the hackery
