bit rough around the edges but a cool cat nonetheless. Did a 5 stretch for manslaughter in 03 but it was self defense.
Anyway he used to hoop with JB before he blew up as an actor, the stories he could tell about that crew....my god. Anyway he said Jon wasn't much of a shooter but if he was guardin' you.... yall better watch out. They say he could rebound the basketball like a prime Bill Russell, and if there was anyone you'd want to get a clutch stop in the final seconds, Jon was your man. Even though his jumper needed work, he used to dunk the ball with ease. Most of the fellas on the court swore he must have been a light skinned brotha cos' Jon's verticle was easily 48 inches. And that ain't no lie.
There's a story about a pick up game that some local gangsters started with JBs crew. A lot of money was put down on it. One of the leaders of the local set pulled a piece on half court cos they thought Jon was a ringer. Things got heated but Jon had to calm things down with his down to earth street-wise charm. They got back to playing and JB managed to get the game winning steal after posting a triple double in overtime. They all cracked some 40s afterwards, and it seemed like all was gonna be cool when one of those gangsters made a transphobic comment within earshot of Jon.... and let's just say those hoods' playing days are over.
