>>212215674Probably. New IPs are a risk as they are untested. Old IPs that can be 'revamped for a modern audience" can count on at least some of the original fans to turn up. When it costs hundreds of millions of dollars to make a movie, no one wants to gamble. The only way they stop this and try new things is if movies become cheaper to make or they always have such a high number of investors in each movie the loss would be minimal to each of them.
