>Question of the DayWhat is the best filmic genre of all time and why is it Found Footage Horror?
Previous:
>>212177223
Erotic thriller is the most human of genres.
>>212238204TBWP is the best movie ever made because as a human your only win condition is to accumulate enough resources to live as you please. Everything else is cope. Art is a meme and you know it deep down. TBWP grossed $250 million from practically no budget. Using the internet in its infancy as a cheap, organic marketing campaign and three amateur actors who even filmed the whole thing for them. There isn't a bigger chad move in the history of cinema. Would you rather be Kubrick beating his little dick to the practical effects in 2001? Tarkovsky killing himself to make Stalker? Or would you prefer to get someone else to film a home movie on a Sony camcorder and make enough money to have your nuts in a hoe's mouth for the rest of your life. Exactly.

>>212254899Because those killers attribute the killing of their designated victim to be more orgasmic than having a real orgasm. You can't compare the actions of serial killers to anything than mental deviancy.
>>212255037No, like every tour he started in the U.S., then went to Europe, then there was the whole band mutiny against Scott Thunes so he decided to end the band.
>>212255363Yeah, I guess. Sadism can obtain pleasure from others' pain, and that in itself is pervs' land imo.
>>212255366Not that anon but I've seen Scott Thunes post on the Zappa subreddit before talking to fans. Mind explaining what happened with the band exactly? I never looked into it.
>>212256968From everything that i've read and interviews i've seen, everybody in the band except for Mike Keneally, and Zappa himself, fucking hated Scott in 1988, the jazz guys especially (the horn section), and they all resented that Scott was the clonemeister (the guy in the band Zappa would put in charge of running the rehearsals), he had a punk attitude and was a younger guy and they didn't like that, it got to the point where they gave Zappa an ultimatum, they wouldn't come back if Scott wasn't fired, so Zappa said fuck that and disbanded, cancelling the 1989 tour. It should be also noted that the 88 tour was his most expensive tour and i believe he ended up losing more money than making it, so i'm sure that played a factor, anyway little would it matter as he would be diagnosed with cancer later in 1989.
I've also read Morgan Argren say that around the time of his cancer diagnosis he was talking about maybe starting a new band, with Mats/Morgan on keyboards and drums, Keneally on guitar, and Scott on bass, that would've been really cool.
>>212256968>>212257301Be that as it may, I think the crux of the biscuit is that scott was/is a bitchy drama queen the other guys simply couldn't stand. Here's something from his youtube channel. I don't quite remember the pre-edited comment he flipped out on, but it was a very mild remark about the choice of arrangement his daughter used for lucille has messed my mind up. A real nut case.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z02toM2RVl4
>>212258008He has schizophrenia and BPD unfortunately.
>>212258008Honestly that just reads like a boomer reacting to any criticism, i've seen many such cases.
I'm not "taking his side" btw, if pretty much the entire band can't stand you odds are you're a douche. An amazing bassist though, some of his choices under Frank's solos are just beautiful, i have him second only to Arthur Barrow as Zappa bassists go.
>>212258137"If everyone hates you, you're the problem", uhmm, nope, it never works like that. In this world the inferior always hate the superior for being better than them. I hope they all die.
>>212258459>In this world the inferior always hate the superior for being better than themHow do you know that the superior are the minority though?
>>212258459True every time. Everyone hates the CEO, the weak fear the strong. I'm 9 foot, 1000 lbs, I've broken the last six condoms I tried on, nearly took the store clerks eye out
>>212248642I've put off watching Taiga for about that long. I keep rationalizing that it's more efficient to watch multiple shorter joints in its stead.
>>212258137>i have him second only to Arthur BarrowBas(s)ed.
>>212258539It's obvious, the inferior are so illogical that they always give up to group thought, for they can't think. They are useless, talentless, worthless scum without discipline or morality, and are evil because of it. They hide in groups because they don't have what it takes to do things on their own.
>>212258651>useless, talentless,You certainly can't say this in this case at least.
>>212258651>It's obviousSo sell me on how minority man Scott Thunes is better than the rest of the '88 band and that's why they hated him and not shit like this
>>212258008
>>212258758Bass guitar is a joke. Upright bass or you have 0 talent.
>>212258973Even fretless bass guitars are just as easy so it slots in with fretted electric bass guitars, a joke instrument like a toy piano or a glockenspiel.
>>212258973You can't
>double stop>smoothly legato on a string>use a bowYou can
>play a vastly simplified electric guitar (also a joke instrument)
>>212258137Fair enough. I always liked tom fowler the most personally. Though I do still think scott is a teenage girl at heart.
>>212259047>Electric guitar, bass guitar>joke instrumentsBet you must play an instrument yourself, or not, because these are some S tier retarded takes.
>>212259009>easyYou don't understand music or art and i'll not continue this conversation.
>>212259192I play many instruments.
They are shitty instruments made to be loud. A classical guitar is barely refined enough to play real music.
>>212259247Okay, enjoy your "bands", I'll enjoy my composers.
I've been avoiding Janet Leigh movies because I'm too attracted to her. Movies for this feel?
>>212259274Any Howard Hughes joint
Electrically amplified instruments are the capeshit of music. If there was a classics and arthouse thread for music, your shitty 'art rock' would barely scrape in on a technicality for being weird enough, not formally inventive, interesting, pleasing, etc.
Watermelons in easter hay is the worst song ever made.
>>212259341A guy who watched Janet Leigh movies on repeat for several years
>>212259269Lol, classical music sucks. Any instrument that uses the western tonal system has the same notes, and it's up to the performer to compose and execute interesting music within that system. I bet you don't even know the details that go into making a rock band like The Beatles sound clean in a live setting, same reason why most bands suck ass. Most classical players sound like clones of each other's, btw, zero expression in classical playing.
t. classical guitarist
>>212259269I'll continue to enjoy both.
>>212259384I didn't say Classical.
>>212259269>>212259384Two sides of the same retarded coin right here.
Anyone seen Vertigo? Pretty good for an old movie
>>212259410Jazz? Mostly sucks.
>>212259445I don't think no one here has checked that forgotten and obscure gem, anon.
Wait, is this the guy from the jazz general on /mu/ who's always shitting on the guitar? Kek.
>>212259371Based
>>212259384I couldn't care less about this bait war you two fags are cooking. BUT I must point out that, while western music does adhere to a 12-tone system, and considerations of timbrel qualities are presumably a given here, the temperament of any whichever instrument varies drastically. And so, to say
>Any instrument that uses the western tonal system has the same notesis really a meaningless statement.
>>212259531Filtered by 7 notes.

Now back to films.
Here's janet leigh in angels in the outfield (1951). Next to her I think is nastassja kinski.
>>212259715Incredibly low cut habit on the left, no cleavage though
>>212259747>>212259765That was funny. You should've played it off as a joke.
Normie thread, it was cooler when those fags were fighting over music. /film/ is gay.
This thread was weird, first it was /hor/ then it was /mu/.
>>212259604Where's the bass guitar version?
Any films that are all exterior? With not a single scene indoors.
>>212259901The Draughtsman's Contract (1982) nearly, but the scenery is great enough to merit the few indoor scenes.
>>212259913So, not what i asked for.
>>212248854Nice I will check this one out
>>212259931The next option would have met your criterion but I'll not post it now.
>>212245089Some JAV has really good acting.
>>212259810It's a lovely haircut, kinscuck.
>>212259901If you round up from 99.5% outdoors to 100%, then a scene at the sea.
>>212259604That was really nice, thank you friend.
This general is so awful. It's always just the same shitposters with the same spam and offtopic cancer
>>212259913>>212259951Why didn't you just tell him the film that fit his criteria in the first place instead of recommending one that "nearly" does? I swear to god it's like some people here are just begging to get into an argument.
>>212259997Don't accuse me of being kinskifag.
>>212260130Don't accuse my wife of having "dumb haircut."
We're all elaborate here.
Let's call it a night and stop bumping the thread so the morning crew can read all our neat conversations.
We're all Kinskifag here.
Going to sleep, make the new one an outdoors edition and my question
>>212259901 as the QOD.
>>212252593>the first one Is the only good one.
Two Towers is mid and Return has too much Hollywood bullshit.
>>212260280We link the previous thread so we don't have to do that.
This has actually been quite a speedy thread relative to the pace we've been going lately.
AND IF A TEN TONNE TRUCK KILLS THE BOTH OF US
TO DIE BY YOUR SIDE
WELL THE PLEASURE THE PRIVILEGE IS MINEEEEE
>>212260280Hey! I just got here boyo!
>>212250743>>212252593>>212260292The other guy is correct. Fellowship is good; the other two are not. And despite what normies would have you believe, the theatrical cut is quite arguably better.
>>212260302Nobody reads the OP when there are so many worderinos. But I will excuse it if you use a photo of marie wilson for the new.
>>212260367Wow that's quite a risque photo
>>212260367Viggo Mortensen said as much
>Also, Peter was always a geek in terms of technology but, once he had the means to do it, and the evolution of the technology really took off, he never looked back. In the first movie, yes, thereโs Rivendell, and Mordor, but thereโs sort of an organic quality to it, actors acting with each other, and real landscapes; itโs grittier. The second movie already started ballooning, for my taste, and then by the third one, there were a lot of special effects. It was grandiose, and all that, but whatever was subtle, in the first movie, gradually got lost in the second and third. Now with The Hobbit, one and two, itโs like that to the power of 10."
>>212260392Too risque for an OP? ._.
>>212260397Yes I've read that. It's also worth noting the first film had a year of pre-production and was simulated in previz whereas the other two were shot immediately after the first (all this withholding that my memory duly serves).
Make the next thread a ethnographic docufiction edition
>>212260367>>212260443Either of those pics will do, but you must do the baking.
>>212260579Here you go. I'm going to bed. Please remind everyone to behave.
New
>>212260612
>>212260623Noted. If anyone makes fun of your girl, they'll be getting a cartel visit.
>>212260623I'm so sorry, anon...
