This might be the one prime Arnie movie I loved that I DON'T mind seeing a reboot attempt at. So much of the plot was just "this is how it is, deal with it" and made no sense, which movies these days are less willing to do so they might expound on a bunch of shit. It’ll come down to how interesting the hunters are. 80’s movies were great at creating interesting villains without giving any backstory and I think modern movies suck because they try too hard to explain everything. Sub Zero was a fat Asian guy on ice skates that murdered people with a bladed hockey stick and exploding pucks because that’s just what he did. Also, Patrick Swayze was chosen to play Ben Richards in the original before it was decided to turn it into an Arnold action movie so I’m interested to see a non Arnie version of this.

I watched it again a few weeks ago and it really did age like shit.
None of the bad guys are physically intimidating, they're all either old, fat or old and fat and their gimmicks look cheap as shit.
The problem for this reboot is that Arnold was a phenom and a lot of his movies were only hits because Arnold was in them. Arnold put asses in seats and there isn't anyone left that does that.
The age of the movie star has ended.
