>>212281181It started with the kickstarter/NFL/tedtalk episode leading into the gluten/ebola episode. Randy dressed as Lorde at the end of the ebola episode so they decided to actually make him be Lorde for the rest of the season. The middle episodes are mostly self-contained but then they end it with a two-parter that calls back to every other episode.
The season after that was when they introduced PC Principal, and the entire season was about South Park getting pressured to modernize to appease the PC fraternity and wholefoods. Most episodes can be watched standalone but they all lead into each other.
Then you get to the election season. This is where they really overdo the syndication. Most episodes end on cliffhangers. This season even a lot of the B-plots get set up by the main plot, like everything Butters does this season. Besides the election continuity, you also get Heidi for two seasons. I would argue that the beginning of their relationship was the funniest.
The season after this is less serialized than the one before, but is still the second most serialized. Pretty much every episode sets up the next one, but no cliffhangers until the second to last one. Unlike the prior season, there are a lot more standalone B-plots.
I would kindly remind people that Tegridy Farm is a setting, not a plot device. There are only really a few episodes where the farm is the main driving force behind the episode. Simply having Stan eating breakfast at his new house isn't the same as making everything a weed joke. And I love Towelie so fuck y'all.
