kek you're not wrong, but i enjoyed the flick. i felt like it hit a good balance between respecting genre tropes while also deconstructing them. like this scene >>212284070 where the showdown with the final girl is set up and ready to go, but seeing her friend's head get turned into strawberry jam completely mindbreaks her and she simply runs in terror until the credits roll. it's subversion that makes sense, so i enjoy it. i also loved the final scene where the lady stops the truck to tie up the final girl's bleeding leg, and she's barely containing her panic as she scans the woods for movement behind them. great little tension build up that gives you a taste of the PTSD the girl is dealing with

I think the silliness comes from the lack of realism. There are a lot of details beyond gore that aren't shown during a kill because it would truly be unwatchable. Added to the fact that you know it's a movie so it's easy to lose yourself in the analytical instead of losing yourself in the terror. Sadly I can't be a teen anymore and experience those movies the way they're intended to be watched.
