>>212291601 (OP)kek based theme.
>>212291642idk what it is about hands but this one I made is /hor/ related too. This was like a weekend job as well just came together easy for some reason.
Anyone watch the Sound? Poster looks good.
>>212291755>idk what it is about hands but this one I made is /hor/ related tooAn eerie coincidence, I almost made this a Creature from the Black Lagoon edition.
How do you make something like that?
>>212291601 (OP)Is Lowlifes worth watching? Everyone seems to love it here.
>>212291820Was way easier than it looked. It's coathanger wire inside a bunch of stuffed gloves, covered with plaster of paris from memory. Details are just paper and plaster of paris, and the webbing was the ribbed part of a washing up glove lol. And I think the nails were epoxy, just standard paints.
>>212291921Keep doing your thing, Anon. You're gonna be a big name some day, and you're gonna tell them "I couldn't have done it without /hor/"
Is it true we're all gonna die of AIDS?
>>212291141you should sell them on etsy or something. can probably make a good buck.
>>212287868>>212289317Just finished Uncle Sam (1996). It's not a great movie, but it's worth watching at least 1 time for the general Americana, especially if you were alive in the Blockbuster era when this movie was constantly visible on the shelves of the Horror section.
Written by Larry Cohen (The Stuff, Q the Winged Serpent), but the direction doesn't really do justice to the writing. First half has very little action, second half has a few decent scenes. Titular antagonist is good but underrealized.
I don't think I'll make it a serious yearly rewatch, but like I said, you ought to see it once.
>>212292127It at least looks like a real film.
>Written by Larry Cohen (The Stuff, Q the Winged Serpent)oh no no no no no

>>212292127>serious yearly rewatch,>Larry CohenKek, you watch Larry Cohen movies for dumb fun, I mean, yeah there are ideas there, but it's summer has melted my brain watching
Same reason there's so many retarded monster movies around the season with a thin veil of real scientific worries like Frogs or The Bay, so you can watch it with your brain off if too you don't need a thin veneer of social commentary
>>212300077>brain off if tooSo you can watch it with your brain off too*, if you don't need the social commentary
Sorry brain melted, prob should watch The Incredible Melting Man again
The Projected Man is mostly a warning lesson to young secretaries about the importance of goggle safety
Not really a horror film, but I am surprised I've never seen Gadonfag post about Enemy, where she is both pregnant and naked for large parts of the movie.
>>212291601 (OP)there was one i saw on a saturday movie channel in the 80s. witch's hand or something. was creepy crawling around killing peeps. i think there was visions in it too.
Watch God Told Me To and you can see that Larry Cohen can do serious stuff. I think he just preferred to do dumb shit for people to have fun, and this is what got him money too.
>>212301965All of it has a serious plotline (with a fantastic element), it's just the part in brackets means you'll be making genre films so you might as well go full tilt. Like, the lead in Q and The Stuff is a brilliant character actor, played entirely straight, just he's also found this sci fi thing. It doesn't matter how good your idea or cast or whatever is at that point, it is a b movie and you should lean in because the audience that reads or watches sci fi for the ideas will love it too. The people who care about consumerism and military industrial complex brainwashing are not the people who care your monster is made out of playdoh and string
>>212303038Not that anon but I watched Antiviral recently and he replied to my post about it.
>Eyes of a Stranger
>Sisters
I recently watched these two similar films, so their scenes overlap on my head. They both have killings on apartment buildings and both are inspired by Hitchcock's Rear Window. Would make up for a nice apartment horror double feature
>>212303755Good taste, anon.
>>212303401It's almost like summoning him
>>212304113I'm the same way so I would've been disappointed had he NOT replied lol
>>212304076People don't make chairs like that anymore.
>>212304336Damn those are some cool kids.
>>212304433Those chairs were probably considered vintage then so imagine now.
>>212304545I still think it's cool how that one anon that knows her brother popped up in /hor/ once or twice. He asked a question once on my behalf very early on and actually gave me a reply.
Watched this last night, it was cute. He's just a secretive man staying over at a house so it's not horror. Or even a mystery. But fun to watch.
>>212301392We post about Enemy all the time.
Did you know that Sarah Gadon kept the prosthetic pregnancy belly from Enemy and would later reuse it for subsequent roles where she plays pregnant woman?
But following her real pregnancy and birth of her baby, she "retired" the belly after filming one last role with it (in the upcoming Netflix series Wayward) and left it to the makeup department.
>>212305654highly underrated performance
>>212305654I was not aware of that fact
Hellraiser 1 and 2 were kino, but I hated 3. should I keep going or it's only going to get worse?
>>212296559Fright Night and The Stuff. Both of which vastly overstated how much cool makeup and sfx they had (not that the films were bad, it's just slightly disappointing the had bullshot covers)
>>2123073934 is basically the last real Hellraiser movie, so watch that for completion. It's better in some ways than 3, but not as well made as 1 and 2.
5 is a good supernatural detective movie with Craig Sheffer from Nightbreed though. A lot of people like it
>>212291601 (OP)Good evening Fixbros
>>212292127I'll probably watch it this weekend. Popcorn is another one that was always on the shelf at the video store that I've never watched. Sometimes I think about the box cover because I would see it constantly.
>>212309913Popcorn is great, I watched 2 or 3 Octobers ago

why does Cameron like to turn slashers into action sequels? (T1 and Alien)
i kinda wish these franchises had stayed horror
>>212311078>why does Cameron like to turn slashers into action sequels? (T1 and Alien)The simple answer is, because it works. They become huge, lasting cultural hits and make billions of dollars.
Horror franchises that keep being horror-focused don't often make much money, even if the first one is a big hit.
>finally a version of The Tommyknockers that doesn't look like an overplayed VHS tape
It's a 4th of July miracle
>>212311292One of those movies where the name is so off-putting that I'll never watch it. Makes me think of some guy named Tommy with big hairy tits.
>>212311399It's fun, ultimately an overly out-there finale kinda sours peoples views on it. Was full on coked up King. Even had an alcoholic writer MC.
>>212311292I always mix up this movie with The Langoliers.

>>212311078Action horror is huge, dude. Look at Resident Evil 4.
Langoliers is definitely the better tv movie adaptation. Tommyknockers is just a played straight Outer Limits episode [albeit not badly] with none of the batshit charm of the novel.

>>212329415I wish I had a cute gf who would annoy me during movies
>>212329371>>212329248>>212329415It sucks for the younger generation, gen z and younger, to have to grow up with such shitty horror movies. These ARE their mainstream big budget horror films and it is total garbage. The 2010s had The Conjuring, Sinister and Insidious which actually focused on horror and being scary. 2000s had loads of classics too. Dead Silence is an example. 2020 and after, the mainstream movies are all prettty bad outside of James Wan and a few surprise hits like Smile series which stand out the most. Paranormal Activity series was the meme of the 2010s and it feels like Terrifier is the new meme of the 2020s. Total slop.

>>212330401Noooo you don't understand, it's totally not him!!!!!!
>>212330361This is Hell House we are talking about. For the fourth movie, I put it on and turned it off many times. Then after like many months after it came out, I watched it beginning to end and the movie was good and scary. The black characters really ruined the movie and had to be ignored.
>>212330361Not him but I would never watch a movie in theaters with a black person in it. Imagine seeing a black on the big screen.
>>212330494Anon, there are anons here who watch movies in theaters with black people in it every week.
>>212330527Oh..I am sure no one here saw Sinners in theatre though
>>212330555Ikr. Imagine knowing there are multiple black characters and still watching it in theaters. That is insane.
>>212330620Imagine watching that in theaters
if you're so scared of black people shouldn't you want to see them in horror movies?
I am watching the Well right now. It has the girl from Terrifier 2 and 3. She looks like she is a lot older than she is. Isnt she 27 irl, she looks 40ish.
>>212330704Not as main charactersโฆthey take away from the realism. The only time I remember it being worth it was the new Salems Lot movie where that black female dies in the end.
>>212330704i don't think he'll have a good answer to this.
>>212330798You're looking for realism? Indian horror is more up your alley.
>>212330704Why do you like looking at black men?
>>212330798>they take away from the realismI'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing, but black people are real, anon.

>>212331990Now watch the sequels
>>212332210>there's more than one
>>212332291>I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)>I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)>I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006)The titles always make me laugh because they had to keep the name recognizable, but obviously the first movie is about what happened last summer and the sequels would be referencing something that happened several summers ago
