Okay, but you'll tell your plan to other people, right?
>No, I'll tell no one. Not even the bridge crew.
Oh, I get it. Are you concerned about spies? Is leaking information a part of the movie?
>No, no one's ever going to bring up the possibility.
But you'll reveal your plan at the last moment, right?

Fargo. If Buscemi/Stormare and Sanderson weren't retards the plot doesn't even happen. Sanderson's father in law being a retard also moves the plot forward.
The only non retard in Fargo is the detective and she's reacting to events, not driving the plot.

This. Ignore the silly detractors.
It required that the Empire (First Order, sorry) didn't somehow realize they were headed towards a giant fucking planet.
It required that they not look out the window (or use sensors) to see escape pods leaving the ship.
It then required a stupid siege scenario where they all go hide in a fortified bunker (right after seeing their prior bunker obliterated from space)
Then it required the First Order to do a ground assault utilizing only a handful of tie fighters to maintain air superiority (which they immediately abandon when they see the Falcon)
It requires all ground assault to completely stop when Luke Skywalker appears out of nowhere, so a duel can take place while all the AT-ATs sit doing nothing about the fleeing enemy.
Sure, yeah, she could have wanted to keep her plan a secret, but she gambled (and lost) that the crew would mutiny without any clear path forward.
It required that the pursuing ships just allow a slow moving enemy to keep flying away under the premise that they'll soon run out of fuel, instead of jumping ahead of them and attacking that way. And after they successfully blow up the bridge using tie fighers, they just stop that plan after it proved successful.
It's so stupid and full of bad character decisions that I could spam this thread for hours just with this one film.

>should we seek out dr. gero now? nah, he hasn't done anything wrong yet, let's wait 3 years (ignore the fact that we could sabotage his lab or stop him from making the androids without killing him)
>they forget the senzu beans yajirobe brought them 15 minutes earlier, and have to go back and get them when yamcha is injured
>goku doesn't take his heart medicine, heads off to fight the androids without having his medicine on him or even telling anyone he hasn't taken it yet
>trunks forgot to tell them what the androids looked like
>gohan trains to super saiyan (and on the verge of being super saiyan 2) in 1 year in the time chamber but somehow didn't make super saiyan in the 3 year timeskip
>krillin doesn't consider destroying 18 then reviving her with the dragon balls
>18 doesn't escape when urged by 16 or krillin, even when cell hadn't noticed her yet
>18 doesn't escape when urged by trunks
All this forced stupidity and I didn't even mention the two main points people argue over (Vegeta allowing Cell to absorb 18 and Goku giving Cell a senzu bean). Even if you assume these two things are completely in-character, there's so much other retardation driving this plot.

Every mob guy in the series is dumber than fuck and the only reason any situation in The Sopranos came about is because they're all morons.

>Revenge is like eating cold cuts

If you don't watch the show as a dramatic comedy then you take yourself too seriously and you probably have brain worms. The vast majority of dialogue is one-liner jokes delivered from a dumbass who couldn't graduate reading class.

There's a specific version of this I call "artificial conflict." Any kind of conflict between characters that would never have occured in a natural human interaction. Mostly this comes from characters going out of their way to be vague with each other for no reason. Example:
>Girl walks in on man doing something incriminating
>Man, rather than immediately explaining exactly what is going on says "It's not what it looks like!"
>Instead of confronting, asking questions, yelling, making demands, or anything else a reasonable or unreasonable person would do, girl runs out of the room
>The two are now have an artificial conflict until the writer contrives up an opportunity for the man to say to her what literally anyone else would've said the first time around.
It's fucking boring.

i'd be easier to say which movie doesnt have idiot plots or scenes to further their stupid story. the opposite happens a lot as well, where a character just knows or guesses stuff he shouldnt

>it worked
She sacrificed every ship except the one she happened to be on, to save just enough people that all that's left of the Resistbellion can fit on the Falcon with extra leg-room. Noticing this hypocritical fuck up, RJ gave her the noble sacrifice that should have been Leia's or Ackar. Poe got demoted for getting far less people killed and saving the fleet from a ship that would have ended the chase before it began. It almost makes sense if the the entire Canto Bite pointless side-quest was all a reshoot to get rid of the spy/traitor plot that was obviously there first.

You misunderstand the arc, the Z fighters were excited for a challenger to come and wanted a fire lit under their ass while they were training. It was literally hubris. Plus there are moments where this theme happens more explicitly, like Vegeta letting Cell become perfect and Goku giving Cell a sensu bean.

>haha, man these people are such idiots. If I was there, it would be so simple and I'd solve everything so easy.
>But that's because you know how everything turns out. You know the ending. Imagine if you didn't have that foreknowledge and were unaware like them.
>huh? But I do have that knowledge. They're just stupid.
>yeah, but imagine if you were them and didn't know...
>BUT I DO KNOW! I KNOW HOW IT ENDS AND CAN'T CHANGE THAT! THEY'RE JUST IDIOTS AND NOW YOU'RE BEING AN IDIOT TOO!

The plot of Cape Fear heavily relies on the fact that Nick Nolte dosnt bother to mention to his daughter that the older bad boy guy shes been flirting with is a violent rapist.

the idea that the guy in Memento could even live a live without assistance is pretty absurd. He would just be an alzheimer patient looking for the car he parked in another town 5 years ago. And of course people would notice and get authorities involved.

i dont think anyone would suggest that those mobsters are not dumb, in fact its made pretty clear that Tony is the King of the imbeciles.
But are they unrealistically dumb?
