It required that the Empire (First Order, sorry) didn't somehow realize they were headed towards a giant fucking planet.
It required that they not look out the window (or use sensors) to see escape pods leaving the ship.
It then required a stupid siege scenario where they all go hide in a fortified bunker (right after seeing their prior bunker obliterated from space)
Then it required the First Order to do a ground assault utilizing only a handful of tie fighters to maintain air superiority (which they immediately abandon when they see the Falcon)
It requires all ground assault to completely stop when Luke Skywalker appears out of nowhere, so a duel can take place while all the AT-ATs sit doing nothing about the fleeing enemy.
Sure, yeah, she could have wanted to keep her plan a secret, but she gambled (and lost) that the crew would mutiny without any clear path forward.
It required that the pursuing ships just allow a slow moving enemy to keep flying away under the premise that they'll soon run out of fuel, instead of jumping ahead of them and attacking that way. And after they successfully blow up the bridge using tie fighers, they just stop that plan after it proved successful.
It's so stupid and full of bad character decisions that I could spam this thread for hours just with this one film.
