Yah man. I love a banter romance between hero and villain, and Raylon and Boyd are the gold standard of that. And the show had so many great minor characters that they resisted the temptation to overplay, like Gunnerson.

Problem with the show is that, when I start watching it, I always start drinking bourbon. I hate/love when media does that to me.

not one character in Rapaport's season acted like he was a badass other than himself and he ended up being the kind of villain that stabbed everyone in the back at every opportunity giving in his own people whenever viable, represented a specific type of redneck criminal and was a decent change of pace from the other antagonists, I didn't know him as an actor so he didn't bother me

>Imagine being Raylan in that scene and having to be all like "damn, fat lawyer chick, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your rotund body and horrific gorilla face. I would totally have sex with you, both my character and the real me." when all he really wants to do is fuck Ava in his motel room. Like seriously imagine having to be Raylan and not only stand there while Aunjanue Ellis flaunts her disgusting body in front of you, the favorable lighting barely concealing her potbelly and ashy skin, and just stand there, take after take, hour after hour, while she perfected that scene. Not only having to tolerate her monstrous fucking visage but her haughty attitude as your daughter tells her she's A QANG! and DAMN, MO-TOWN LAWYERS LOOKS LIKE *THAT*?? because she’s not the one who have to sit there and watch her jiggaboon face contort into types of grimaces you didn't even know existed before that day. You've been fucking nothing but a healthy diet of blondes and later alleged federal fugitives for your ENTIRE CAREER coming straight out of the boonies in Harlan County. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the sweat that's breaking out on her stretched stomach as she sucks it in to writhe it suggestively at you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to stand there and revel in her "Africanesque (for that is what she calls herself)" beauty, the beauty she worked so hard for with personal caterers in the previous months. And then the DA calls for another take, and you know you could kill every single Crowder in this state before the Marshall Service could put you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're fucking Raylan Givins. You're not going to lose your policing career over this. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

I love Olyphant and the premise is fine, but I can’t get past the writers beating you over the head with how apologetic they are that the lead is a white man, and how they are all just so completely safely liberal so don’t worry. I like shows that are shows, not movies that are mutilated to fit into a serial format by replacing plot points with episodic climaxes that do nothing but try to hook you into watching the next climax. All the shows you listed would’ve been great miniseries, but were ruined by stretching them out into meaningless bullshit until the balance sheet ran out.

Thanks. Really I just wish the miniseries format was more popular, most modern shows would be so much better without the bullshit episodic cliffhanger format. BB, the wire, sopranos, game of thrones, all those should have been miniseries. Self contained with real beginnings, middles, and ends. But that doesn’t appease the almighty algorithm.

Weird... i started watching it last night.
First episode was *ok*. Timothy Elephant's fake front teeth were annoying.
The special effects were hilariously bad (see when he blows the church up).
They built up what seemed like it was going to be a really interesting relationship/ongoing duel between Walton Goggins and Timothy Elephant only to kill him in the very first episode, disappointing.

Overall it was ok, maybe a 6/10. I'll keep watching but i doubt i'm going to get through the entire thing.

Die a hero or live long enough to turn your creation into shit, sure, sure. Tale as old as time. We’ve strayed from the point here. X-Files was an excellent tv show. For five seasons it was near perfect, and great for a few more even. Breaking Bad never should have been a show in the first place, it wasn’t a tv show, it was a miniseries at best ruined by a forced episodic format. 1 properly planned season would’ve been amazing, instead we got I don’t even know how many seasons of 80% garbage.

1st season is good but they poz it up after that really seems like an exec had a kvetch fit because they were too pronazi with boyd and raylan teaming up. Not that it isnt watchable afterwards but limehouse is an intolerable mary sue and qarle's season doesn't know where it's going, rapport is aids and the final season forces a confrontation between raylan and boyd that never needed to happen. Also ellie may is fucking insufferable so the producer must've been getting the amazing head from her

p.s. ava should have had all charges dropped since midget confessed and the original charges were dismissed so her informant arc is nonsensical. A lot of the fuck ups over the seasons were from the writers not wanting to rehash the same plot lines but instead they just aped other shit so they might as well have just done a fitting rehash.

It was more of a series than a movie, OP.

justified makes me hunger oxys and opiates in general hardcore especially the season where the bad guy is popping them left and right, legit crushes me because I haven't been able to score painkillers in 5 years almost and its pretty much the best I've ever fealt

Sam Elliot in the final season was a decent antagonist, he had an atmosphere to him and Elliot always acts well

100% I'm not kidding the show gets better at the end of S1 and then S2 is almost all gold. They move on from the villain of the week beginning and it becomes long running storylines with constant reoccuring characters, I'd say just start with S2 if you wanna see if its actually good

Justified is better than BB but yeah wire and Sopranos are superior, so is the shield and leftovers so at best Justified could be the 5th best show but I'd True Detective S1 is up there for sure

thats what I thought when he said that. those 3 shows are an obvious similar realm of media might aswell throw in Twilight Zone, not to say I don't like the but it clearly shows he has a type and is biased to a certain style

mentally register it as a modern western in the south, I promise if you get part way through S2 it'll all come together

I really liked Boon, it was cool to have an impressive gunman be Raylan's final foe so they could have a classic duel, funny too
