Have the Jurassic Park in question built way too close to a city and follow a suburban family as they flee from dinosaurs in the suburbs / eventually in the downtown streets. Basically make a full feature length version of vid related.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=namKsaP4hcc

There's been enough of dinosaurs in the jungle in these films and the setting change alone would be enough to make it more compelling by comparison.

By taking the Star Wars approach. Look at season 1 Mandalorian or Andor, what works so well is that the world is already very established. All you need to do is find and add mundane or irrelevant aspects of that world and add some well written characters and some flavor.

The biggest problem with JP/JW right now is the same problem that the Star Wars sequels face. Its all "TOO BIG", "TOO IMPORTANT". How many more times do we need some hyper-ultra-top secret plan to save the world by stealing ingen tech? How many professional soldiers/PMCs are going to get killed by acting like idiots?

Like this guy says>>212356598

You take well written characters with a insignificant plot device or motivation and voila, you have a script.

OR

You go the camping ASMR/surival video game route and show us a how a person survives on Isla Sorna (like the kid from JP3) for a long time.

I had an idea for a universal ride:

Doc Brown makes a submarine time machine so he can study the evolution of marine animals making their first migrations to land. While booting up the subolorean, it is attacked by Jaws and they both get transported through the warp field to a prehistoric era. To prevent the future from being erased, Doc Brown and the riders have to save Jaws from being killed by all the other giant ancient marine animals, while at the same time trying to keep jaws from eating the evolutionary precursor to modern man.

>JP1 incident occurs
>InGen tells everyone on Site B to gtfo while they handle the legal shitstorm
>small group of staff that actually care about the animals decide to stay and ensure they are taken care of/continue research
>months pass, shit starts to break down, harder for a smaller team to maintain all the facilities of the island, some sections abandoned, harder to keep animals in their own regions
>accidents occur, animals start attacking the remaining staff whom have been forced to isolate themselves to a single facility
>use various scenes from the Lost World novel like the camo carnos and the raptor shark cage/bike chase. Maybe also have a character get the Wu book death treatment.
>overall just a slower burn film like the first that gives also a good taste of the island in a functional state

Alternatively would probably work well as a mini series.

>How do we save this series?

Re-focus on essentially three plot points:
-World building, literally just expand on what's going on in the world, maybe in an episodic fashion or something think 40 minute streaming specials or something.
-Expand the roster of Extinct Animals: >>212356729 start including pleistocene animals, maybe even some non-humans.
-Lean more into the biopharma-horror of genetically engineered organisms, use 90's Japanese sci-fi horror for inspiration if you have to. You have all these cloning companies, working with dinosaurs, and the only thing you can come up with is "we made a big grasshopper and a down-syndrome rex". Fucking pathetic.
-Fire whoever is in charge of approving the art direction/monster design. He's shit and I hate him. There needs to be a clear visual, and behavioral, difference between the "cloned animal" and "genetic freaks", and the genetic freaks need to be freakier.
-More kids content. The Camp Cretaceous stuff has been super popular with kids and autists and the autists buy the merch.
-???Kaiju????

At this point, I think remakes are in order.

I I were to do it:
>Faithful remake of the first movie, for the most part, with added elements and sequences from the novels to enhance it.
>Then, MAKE AN ACTUAL SEQUEL TO THE FIRST MOVIE AOUT RETRIEVING THE EMBRYO CANNISTER/EMBRYOS IN GENERAL. Use either the threat of destruction via military or volcano eruption a la Fallen Kingdom as the main driving force. Possibly introduce Sorna as the sanctuary island. JP fucked up originally by forcing Crichton to shit out a sequel quickly.
>Make a hybrid TLW/JPIII for the third movie, either introduce the second island here or the last film, this is when we do the whole "greedy retards are trying to put dinosaurs onto the mainland with the San Diego JP" thing. Dinos on the mainland was originally gonna be left for the 3rd film before Spielberg decided to flip the table and blow his load too early. It goes wrong, all dinosaurs get put back on the islands and left alone.
>End it there.

Introduce the DX disease, but its a form of prehistoric rabies that has been revived from the cloning process, or some other type of deadly pathogen that these creatures are capable of carrying and there is a fear it could make the jump to other modern species. Maybe some dumbasses decide to have a party on a quarantine island where its a known vector point of where this disease exists in the dinos living here and its made them super aggressive and neurotic. Millitary forces wont allow the people off the island because they could become carriers of the disease. Or maybe just a plot about a security force just killing every dino they can to halt spread.

We don't need to save it, the Jurassic Park trilogy ended 24 years ago and is a classic movie series.

In the first film, it's literally the central plot point as the fact the dinosaurs were in part created with the help of frog DNA is the reason a few are able to change sex from female to male in a previously all-female park which is the main cause of its unraveling

I don't think you need to spoiler block stuff from Jurassic Park 1993.
The genetic engineering aspect could still be part of a time travel dinosaur movie, where maybe they need to collect the real DNA because the frog method stopped working, or the dinos are becoming too inbred due to limited amber samples and they need to be made more genetically diverse

There's no way to save the series post-World films. They expanded the scope way too much, and everything imploded.

At the same time, you probably can't just keep recycling the same "people get stuck on the abandoned dinosaur island and need to find a way to escape" plot. They had already run out of solid ideas by the time of JP3, and (rightfully) just leaned into some fun gimmicks. They absolutely could/should do more dino urbex stuff in the series, but it'd probably be difficult to build an entire movie around it, especially not when there's a million other prerequisite scenes demanded by corporate.

Rebooting the franchise is naff, especially given that Jurassic World was already a soft reboot. It's also not clear how a reboot would work given the franchise's feature creep ... would the producers even allow them to go back to a simpler island with only the handful of base dinosaurs? Would audiences be happy with just T.rex and raptors again, or would we have to restart the franchise with a much more expansive array of dinosaurs and set pieces?

I still think a prequel would be an interesting idea. More of a focus on Hammond, the initial cloning attempts, and the building of Sorna and Nublar. You could base a lot of it on the Trespasser script, and maybe even use some of Richard Attenborough's voice lines. There'd obviously be less dinosaur action - though we know they did have some accidents - but that also justifies a smaller budget. Make something good, rather than something over the top. But I guess I can't see a production company wanting to move in this sort of direction.

>You take well written characters with a insignificant plot device or motivation and voila, you have a script.
>OR
>You go the camping ASMR/surival video game route and show us a how a person survives on Isla Sorna (like the kid from JP3) for a long time.
Both sound bad

We're not talking about a franchise that was ended prematurely by the death of a lead actor or a writer's strike; Jurassic Park, uh, uh, had it's chance, and audiences *selected it* for extinction.

It would be kind of cool to do something with Hammond's Memoirs from the old Trespasser game.
