This has one of the best zombie movie openings ever. I was hoping we'd get something similar in 28 Years Later but unfortunately, not really. The way it depicts the collapse of civilization in a suburb is fucking kino as shit. Exactly how I think it would go down. Also actually scary. The Johnny Cash opening scared the shit out of me when I was younger.

The montage scene where the guy from the family fucks that hot blonde bitch was nice too, great breasts she had. It's dirty as fuck too, not like stupid sensual romantic bullshit lol.

I always thought they could have shown more of the new footage throughout the film like they do in the beginning. That would've been cool. But still great zombie movie. They did have an extra on the DVD version where you could watch a short film that is basically just the news during this.

It's not woke in the DEI/culture war sense, in fact I didn't see one non-white person in it. It's just nothing like the first two movies and is instead some gay coming-of-age tale about a boy going into the woods to hunt some infected for the acceptance of his village, and every one of the infected in the movie is naked and the camera makes sure to frame their swinging dicks into every single shot.

it all depends on how the movie establishes people understanding the lore of the zombies or whatever.
if everyone knows what they are, that you have to headshot them, that a bite is terminal, then yeah it'd be easy to contain with a lot of weapons.
but if no one knows whats going on, then you have all the opportunities for a bitten person sneaking into a group and destroying them when they turn. people too emotional to put a bullet in their loved one, etc.

yeah women are dumb in most situations but no one in that movie really had any horror/dread surrounding them constantly. too much fun. in reality she probably would be so terrified she'd faint from all the stimulation and never have any opportunity to fuck anything up.

28 years later isnโ€™t a zombie movie, and it isnโ€™t a post apocalyptic movie.

Once you view it as a dark fantasy adventure, you can really enjoy it. I loved it. I understand people not liking it, but itโ€™s like how fans responded to evil dead army of darkness, a lot hated it but some think itโ€™s the best of the series

He got more a lot more creative control after he had 2 box office hits in DOTD and 300 and began writing his own shit and exerting himself more and it turns out he's a complete hack when let off the leash. 300 only worked because it's a story with a very basic plot so his style over substance of just going for cool shots worked out.

See it on the theater screen if you can. It was quite the experience. I was floored by it. Few seconds into that intro everyone knew it was kino time, and the theater had just about every seat filled. This was back when good even great movies went to theaters. The whole zombie baby subplot dragged it down for me. And I wasn't that keen in the first place.

For some reason Zack Snyder insisted on using some weird ass lens to make the movie look "dream like".

Why don't they make zombie movies set during the initial outbreak? It could be so good.

They do. But the outbreak part doesn't last long. For slow zombies they need to brush over it quickly because otherwise people are going to wonder how any half decent militia didn't wipe them out on day 1. And with fast/other variant outbreaks the actual outbreak part is over quickly.

>any half decent militia didn't wipe them out on day 1
No one would wonder that. In any large scale disaster it takes weeks, even months to get a coordinated response together. This would be even worse since it just seems like everyone has gone crazy with rabies, no one knows what's going on, and for all they know it's super infectious. No one is some zombie expert like you always pretend. However, they don't like showing the start because it has been done so many times it's pretty boring. They want to skip through to "the good part" because the audience whines and boos "yeah yeah, we know, everyone's shocked and scared not knowing about zombies, get on with it already!" Same way they treat aliens, they have to burst and terrorize everyone on fast foward since everyone has seen it so much it's boring.

I think he is the one armed zombie that rushes that one dude against the window, or the one zombie that wanders towards the two guys when they try to open the backdoor for the truck.

A couple of hillbillies with guns could end them. A competent military even moreso. It's always cringe when a modern day military is overrun by slow zombies. They simply aren't enough of a threat or fast enough.

I honestly can't remember any zombies where the initial outbreak isn't a major plot point. I always loved those flashback scenes from the walking dead back then with the military fighting the infected in the hospitals and bombing the cities.

Yeah I thought that was interesting too (outbreak in those times) but I had just come off watching a different long period piece so I wasn't quite into it.

Also IIRC there wasn't a a lot of zombie action happening. Literally just the emperor or lord was zombie

Land of The Dead is better modern zombie movie. The 1970s DOD was way better. Wally was BASED https://youtu.be/u3aGmR0XvwY?t=485

The new one is okay, but it was also pozzed. Russian lady with black husband was absolutely disgusting. Also the weird old gay guy. A bit too much dialog and not enough action. Also lazy writing;
"Lets put Andys shop next to the mall". It was cool watching it back in the 2000s when it was new but now its lame.

But realistic. Slavic women fuck all sorts of niggers and other browns. They're notorious for it.

That's still pretty early in the show. They go to investigate a far out rural village and there's zombies there. The zombies in the show work by only coming alive at night. Eventually they spread to a bunch more villages all around the kingdom and it gets way worse. But it's all accompanying politcal schemes and games because powerful people wanted to usurp the throne and line of succession
