I mean, I get that. But both their dialogue and their acting is still really bad. It takes me out of the story.
I can understand why it happened in S1, but for S3 there was no excuse with all the Netflix money. They should have hired at least a consultant to rewrite the dialogue and hire better actors.
My guess is they hired whoever they could find that looked American and could speak both English and Korean, the latter simply to communicate on set.

It reminds me of the cartel scenes in Breaking Bad with the inconsistent Spanish accents, but 10x worse.
Difference is they tried to fix it in Better Call Saul by having an actual good Mexican actor play Lalo.

There was an easy fix, just tell another story, let the protag from season 1 out of it and tell an interesting story. If you really want him in, it was not hard, Gi-hun should have been on the outside on the boat instead of the policeman and the policeman should have infiltrated again instead of the girl. Plot A is a regular full of surprise game, plot B is the old cast trying to infiltrate / disrupt the games. Going back in as a player was retarded and forced drama.
