>His submersible is light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He descends in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, Stockton. He is descending, descending. He says that he will never die.

>He was ashamed of his submersible, his boasting, his pretensions of courage and innovation; he was sorry about his short-sightedness, his decompression, his inability to express what he now believed was the case- that he truly regretted being imploded, that he missed the crew as much as anybody and wished their deaths hadn't been necessary.

>screaming in agony
no agony whatsoever, they were crushed to goo in 0.2 seconds, they literally felt nothing.
its ironically the best way possible to die

>They would've heard the hull delamination. They dropped the weights trying to save themselves. They knew the end was near when the controller stopped working. The mental anguish and fear meant they were likely screaming in terror for a good 15-20 minutes before the ocean claimed their corpses for all eternity

Cameron used his mighty powers of the sea to slow down time so that they could endure every terrifying microsecond of their folly
Anonymous No.212381221 >>212381427 >>212381430
I can't stop imagining Cameron doing a deal with Poseidon to rewind and play the footage of their deaths again to study the scene so he can entertain the possibility of making some kino about it.
>Yes, yes. Right before the second scream. Can you go back to that please? Humm. Well, the audio levels are all over the place. Gotta fix that. I think the cracking could be less louder, too, and a bit more ominous, like a proper crescendo. Go a milisecond before the explosion. I want to take a look at their faces.
Anonymous No.212381261
Jokes aside, Cameron is actually an accomplished submarine pilot who has gone down to the Challenger Deep

No, they were in agony. They had been fucked for what, 24-48 hours? Just sitting in that sub waiting for death, hearing all the noises of the hull expanding or whatever. It was an instant death but the prolonged build up with several other stressed out strangers sounds gay.

>there's a flawed place in the the fabric of your hull, a small tear, barely peceptible, yet it echoes through every inch of your existence. You sail through vast seas, boasting of your mastery over nature, as if the universe were a puzzle designed solely for your solving, but in your arrogance you forget that the more you push to control, the more you reveal the fragility of your own creattion.

>This was a terrible, terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to their families. We can at least take solace in the fact that they were warned before the implosion occurred that the hull was about to experience catastrophic failure and they were thus fully aware of their imminent and instantaneous deaths, and were actively trying to escape this horrific fate because we know they dropped their ballasts in a futile attempt to frantically ascend to the surface. Pure, visceral fear and helplessness was surely felt by all. In fact, they undoubtedly could acoustically hear the hull delaminating in real time, regardless of the warning system. I can picture it in my brain. Imagine the camera panning up to the 19 year old's face as he looks to his father in their final moments of absolute existential dread. Cut to dolly track close up of Stockton Rush initiating the ballast release function, possibly screaming, we'll have to brainstorm that shot. Cut to outside the vessel with a full view of the implosion, minimal to no music or score playing for full effect. Anyways, terrible tragedy. Heart goes out to families.

So how did people know the Logitech controller failed and that they dropped the weights trying to ascend?
