Bring Her Back is a more realised vision. Its better directed, better shot, better acted and conveys its themes of grief and loss in a far more meaningful way. Talk to Me feels like a movie made for zoomers to make memes about on TikTok. Bring Her Back feels like an actual movie with genuine merit. Also, both are better than Ari Aster and Jordan Peele's first two movies which is hilarious.

I researched the Exorcist earlier today and then watched Bring Her Back, which is actually one of the less shitty horrors of the last 10 years. It still sucked ass.

everything is just an attempt to force viral scenes. Horrors are now built around this. You'd never have kino like Merrin and Karras' interactions in the Exorcist, or the genuine despair of Chris MacNeil's pleas for Karras to perform the Exorcism. Contrast this with the dog shit psychosis of the mother in Bring Her Back and how jarring and senseless her coming to sanity moment is, how her grief isn't even remotely elaborated upon until the last 5 minutes. I like horror but it's such a shame that there so few true kinos from the genre.

Watched Bring Her Back today and thought it was great. Similar aesthetically to Talk To Me but better executed overall, although Talk To Me had higher highs and lower lows.
Thought the whole story was great whereas in Talk To Me the third act was majorly fumbled because it was filmed on roads and parking lots in the daytime.
