Rewatched mos yesterday, while it's far from perfect (the end battle could've comfortably had 10mins cut from it, as well as few seconds here and there, just to make the flow better, in my eyes at least) Cavil was OK, while he was no Reeves, he was at least committed to the role, just needed finer direction.

DC does have more of an edge to it, but it’s not overpowering. There’s a balance to it. Superman is that counterweight to the darkness. DC’s basically a Shonen, and Superman is the protagonist.
